4.5Bixby Bridge(1.437 reviews) - Never fails to amaze! Bridges
Built in 1932, Bixby bridge is a picturesque sight in stunning Big Sur and one of the most photographed bridges on the Pacific Coast Highway. But it's not just a photo opportunity; the area offers fantastic hiking and wildlife sightings as well. If you're looking for the best view of the bridge, park at the Castle Rock viewpoint on the north side, or head half a mile inland to the Bixby Bridge vista point. If you're planning to visit during golden hour, prepare for heavy traffic and scarce parking available, especially in the warmer months. – TripadvisorSee more..
It’s not the Golden Gate Bridge but it is cool. You can look right down to the state Capitol which is a nice photo. It is a vertical lift bridge so the middle bit lifts up - I didn’t see this but it sounds quite cool.See more..
4.5Rocky Creek Bridge(67 reviews) - Flabbergasting Views Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges • Lookouts
Rocky Creek Bridge is an arch bridge on the Big Sur coast of California, built in 1932. It is located in Monterey County, on the State Route 1, about 12 miles south of the city of Carmel, and about a mile north of the more famous Bixby Creek Bridge. As its name implies, it spans the Rocky Creek. A turnout with limited parking space exists to the northwest of the bridge. Certainly offers flabbergasting views all around and so would very highly recommend visiting the same to any traveler. See more..
Have been here many times - even when the bridge used to be open and you could walk across it. Still cool to see the covered historic bridge. Visitors center is nice and informative. Good books & gifts too. We have been here when they offered free gold panning lessons with the docents. Nice easy hikes from the visitors center up and down river. River easy to access and cool off. Totally biased review. I have loved this bridge since I was young and it still enthralls me. History, architecture, beautiful views. The Pasadena Historical Society has an event usually every other year or so to benefit the bridge with upkeeping and beautification. It is worth it if you can to take a slow drive and enjoy it. Yes the suicide fencing does not add to its beauty yet sadly since the Depression it has been known as Suicide Bridge. The Colorado Street Bridge is worth the drive, even over and over again.See more..
My husband and I took a walk along the trail to this bridge. The bridge spans Lake Hodges and at this time, there is water under the bridge. We saw beautiful scenery, including ducks floating on the water and an Egret sitting in a tree. Gorgeous. Here are the hours of the bridge and directions to it. The bridge includes gates that will automatically lock people out between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The south entrance to the bridge is just off Pomerado Road at I-15, and the north entrance is at the end of a mile-long paved path that begins near Sunset Drive and Via Rancho Parkway. We parked in a small parking lot near a self storage place and walked along the path to the bridge. There were hardly any people there so it was very peaceful. At one point you walk under I-15 and the noise from the freeway almost disappears. Under the overpass we saw patches of the lake. Right before the bridge there is an outhouse, in case you can't wait. There are also signs that give you information about the bridge. On the bridge there are a few benches along the way so if you wanted to carry a lunch you could sit and eat it. We walked about 2.5 miles round trip so you have to decide if you want to carry anything. We brought water. The entire hiking trail is longer if you chose to do that. This was a unique experience for us and an enjoyable activity to do. I found out about it from looking for things to do in Escondido, on TripAdvisor.See more..

3.5Dumbarton Bridge(41 reviews) - It's just a bridge Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
For goodness sake, I don't know why some of these mundane things are listed as "attractions". Nothing wrong with this old bridge and it has good views along both shorelines. You're quite close to the water. On the east side you go through a hilly preserve area, marshes on both sides, and views of the mountains on both sides. See more..
Hard to rate, since it is a glance and maybe a quick picture stop. But I have to admit I have never seen golden bears on a bridge abutment. Unique and worth the photo snap. You have to use the road anyway to get around in Redwood.See more..
