  4. 4.0 Mammoth Brewing Company (271 reviews)
    - great food, beverages and covid-conscious experience
    Friday: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM Breweries
    Mammoth Brewing Company image
We are a week into a month long stay in Mammoth lakes and have already eaten at the brewing company twice. They have a fantastic mobile-first ordering process, and a lot of outdoor seating which is great for these covid times. My partner and I are vaccinated but still haven't eaten inside restaurants so we loved this experience. You just use your camera to scan the QR code and order from the menu and pay online. The drinks came almost immediately and the food came quickly too. I also liked this place because it was dog friendly, as we're traveling with my Labrador. there was plenty of space between tables so he wasn't too distracted by people and other dogs. They have a wide array of locally brewed beers and other beverages. I had two different salads, and my partner had the tacos/pitas and the smoke stack. Smoke stack was a lot of meat (pulled chicken). My salads were both great too! I tried the sour beers and liked them both - especially the gooseberry sour. See more..

  6. 4.5 Institution Ale Company (110 reviews)
    - Good Food, Great Beers, what's not to like?
Friday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
    Institution Ale Company image
I visited Institution Ale early on a Friday afternoon. I had heard that because Camarillo does not have many bars or nightlife, Institution Ale gets very busy. I arrived at about 2:30 pm and it was not crowded at all. My only complaint was that you must order all food and drinks inside at the bar and only one person was taking orders. I waited about 10 minutes to order with only three people ahead of me in line. Institution Ale was having an Oktoberfest event and had bratwurst in addition to their pizza and pretzel menu. I order one of each. The food was very good and arrived at my table quickly. For drinks I ordered: The Festbier, Cinnamon Swirl on Nitro, RX pils, Restraint and Cam Light. I liked the beers very much and would definitely go back for more. The additiional seating in the parking lot I hope is a permanent addition. See more..

Knee Deep Brewing Co in Auburn is really cool brewery to visit and have a beer or two. It's a classic brewery taproom inside the brewery production facilities. Cool industrial vibe. There is also the outside area with tables. There is a food truck outside as well. It's kid and dog friendly. And the beers are excellent. Flights of 4 are available. 20 beers on tap. Some merchandise and beers to go also available. 5 out of 5. Absolutely great place. Also my wife and kids loved it (there was a dog to play with). See more..

    - A family fun place brewery
    Breweries
    The Brewing Lair image
As funny as it sounds, this brewery is a fabulous place for families and kids. The brewery itself is built in a rustic corregated sheet metal barn, but very modern, with a large assortment of beers to suit all tastes. There is now a taco food truck that has a good menu, and very fresh tasty fish tacos. I recommend them. You can also bring your own BBQ food and picnic on the pretty lawn with terraced decks and ample seating on picnic tables. Occasional live music on the stage. Par course 18 hole frisbie thru the woods.....nice trails, corn hole, ping pong, and activities for the kids. Located directly off HWY 70 outside Blairsden, it is a really fun , good , place to visit. See more..

We were in wine growing region outside of Santa Barbara for a two day tasting trip. Mid day on the second day, we decided we needed a break from grapes and headed to this brewery that came highly recommended. The bar/seating are was pretty cool as the working brewery is in full view and the brewmasters and working right in front of you. They offer a large range of beers including the one I had to try, just based upon the name. Try to guess which one??? BTW, the food looked very good even though we were too full of Ellen's pancake from breakfast... See more..

  27. 4.5 Iron Fist Brewing Co (26 reviews)
    - The Best of North County Microbrews
    Friday: 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM Breweries
    Iron Fist Brewing Co image
Iron First Brewery, for me, represents all the best aspects of the S.D. microbrewery scene. Entrepreneurial success story, great family business and killer Beer. The story of this place is an inspiring one. Polish immigrant family whose son started brewing in his early twenties and the whole family kicked in to get the business off the ground. There's something inspiring about a business where the parents work as servers, the grandparents pick up the tables and the son is the Master Brewer. And what a nice family they are. The Blonde and the Saison are my favorites. Low on the IBU scale but with lots of interesting notes, in a traditional Belgian style. The Velvet Glove seems to be the most popular. There's always a food truck out front and interesting locals to chat with inside. Note that there are several other good microbreweries within a 1 mile radius if you are on tour, including Aztec, Indian Joe's and Belching Beaver. See more..

Covid required an outside area, but it is a beautiful spot, weather usually permitting, and I hope that it can become permanent.
