We booked this trip in early July for an early August trip during COVID. Bunch friends got together with masks on the whole time. We started from Knights Ferry near Oakdale around 10 am, ended up in Orange Blossom just a little after 2 pm. With the extremely low water level, we bottomed out a few times and had to get out and drag the boat. This was rated level 1 due to the low water level. One of our friends is experienced so he was able to steer in the back preventing us from going around in circles. A friend backed out last moment since he didn't feel well, River Journey immediately gives us credit to use within 1 year. Everyone agreed that the second half from Horse Shoe to Orange Blossom was actually more fun with higher water levels and some speed. We also saw lots of animals (fish, crab or crayfish, and plants) on the trip down. Definitely lots of fun that we may do again on another river.See more..

We enjoyed our time. A bit spendy, but a great way to get some great views. The two hours also allowed us enough time to make a quick visit to the Wrigley Memorial and botanical garden. We were surprised when they asked for a cash deposit. Who carries $60 cash around any more, I mean you have my credit card already and my insurance. They took the $20+ we could scrape together as the deposit and were friendly about it. We booked comfort bikes online, to ride the Truckee River Legacy Trail. When we walked in to Bike Truckee to pick-up the bikes, one of the shop owners called us by name and had the bikes ready to go. The bikes were beautifully maintained, no squeaks or rattles and the brakes and gears worked great! The tires were perfectly inflated and proved to be up to the challenge of local thorns (zero flats). Bike Truckee gave us directions to the trail. The bikes we rented were perfect for it and priced very fairly. We had so much fun on the first trail, we ended up riding into town and also completed the Martis Valley Trail. There were about 30 of us who went. One person was in charge to check out/rent the rafts. The check out was simple and painless. We tied four rafts together as we conquered the American River. The water level was low and rapids was like level 1 only :( But whether you joined us or not, do not go to the river unless you were armed with water guns or covered with rain gear. Our group was like an army ready for mortal combat shooting the shooter with double bazookas, cameras and jello shots. One group of rafters (two rafts) dared us and started shooting at us. They were outnumbered as we all "ambushed" them with our water guns. To make things clear, River Rat was the place we rented the rafts but the fun continued on while we were rafting. The service they provided us was great as we surrendered the rafts in the end (at the destination point) and we boarded on the bus provided by River Rat to be taken back to our cars. James was awesome from the start! My fiancé and I was looking for getaway from the Bay Area and Kayaking in Suisun City was just the ticket. I would highly recommend to anyone! I was a beginner, it was my first time and I'm happy that James introduced me and gave me all the instructions I needed to know for a first timer. I called a few weeks in advance, booked the kayaking for two and my small dog for an 11am slot. James was so accommodating that he allowed my little dog, Domino, who had a blast on the water! We were on the water for an hour and a half, we saw nature, the water was easy to moderate at times, and little Venice was a nice surprise! We brought our boat up for the long weekend, but our friends who accompanied us rented a pontoon boat one day to take their family out on the lake and loved it. Shannon and the group at Sierra were wonderful and took good care of us. We stayed late on the lake on Saturday and they were standing by ready to help us into our slip as we came in after dark! There is also a rental available on site but check on timings and rates -though i found it open on all evenings. The entire day is good and evenings from 1700 h to 2200 h are fantastic.I am sure you will love it. The Park hosts a number of events on most weekends but water sports continue without stoppage -in fact it can be great family outing for those not involved in water sports also.The scenic beauty is astonishing. It also entailed a 10 minutes walk from the shop and a climb with board up a narrow cliff trail - so be ready and be fit. Chris was patient when in the water and offered terrific insight and advice about the conditions, surfing, the board, and best practices. It was such a good time that I opted to return three days later and give it another try. Paul kept the shop open and squared me away with kit.
