This auditorium was built in 1928 and was designed by Ernest J. Kump. It's classified as a Renaissance Revival structure and is listed as a National Historical Building. It is located in a small farming town of Wasco California, population approximately 25,000. When I attended the school the population was only about 5,000, so an auditorium of this type was completely foreign to this area. It is still used today for day to day school activities and still a place where graduates are handed their diplomas. There are art deco murals in the lobby that have been restored back to their original looks. The high school grounds are about 2 miles off of Hwy 46 that crosses the Central Valley between Fomosa and Paso Robles. See more..
