5.0Wayfarers Chapel(402 reviews) - The Wayfarers Chapel is a must see in So Cal! Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
Wayfarers Chapel is nestled in a grove of towering redwood trees. Lloyd Wright designed the Chapel out of glass, wood, and stone elements that come together at 30 and 60 degree angles. It opened in 1951 to serve as a place for all wayfarers on life's journey to stop and give glory to God and is famous for its organic architecture. With its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island, the 3.5 acres that the Chapel sits on feature beautifully landscaped gardens with trees forming arbored walkways leading to gardens replicating the forest floor, expansive lawns, an outdoor amphitheater, and a rose garden with a walk of honor featuring engraved pavers. Wayfarers Chapel is a Swedenborgian church that welcomes people of all faiths to their worship services and to celebrate other important passages of life, including memorial services, baptisms, and weddings. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the National Memorial to Emanuel Swedenborg.See more..

4.5Bethel Church(282 reviews) - Great Church for our times, do check them out else you're gonna miss a huge part of your blessings! Friday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
Bethel Redding's mission is to create a vibrant family of hope filled believers who deeply experience the love and presence of God and partner with Jesus to express the joy and power of His kingdom in every area of life. We've learned that to have a global impact it starts with individual hearts. Though we worship together across multiple campuses and services, we are bound together by a single mandate: to bring Heaven to Earth. At the center of our gatherings is a pursuit of God's presence, where our hearts are transformed and launched into their destinies. Whether you are new to the family or a long-time member, we cannot wait to connect with you, pursuing God's presence until the world changes.See more..
5.0Stanford Memorial Church(69 reviews) - Bring on the Music Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals
Memorial church serves its campus community in a variety of worship settings, but it also has a lot of free offerings for the wider community in its worship offerings. Although most of the music is performed by Stanford folks, this is not a put down since the faculty and students and friends are greatly talented. We like the evening vesper services as an alternative to most Christian worship services—quiet and thoughtful and short.See more..

4.5The Kill Bill Church(42 reviews) - Worth the visit if you are a fan of the Kill Bill movie! Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals
We drove for 2 hours without high expectations, but we had a wonderful experience. Oscar, the owner and pastor of the church, received us cordially, explained the history of the building and his own history of life. He is very sweet! We loved every minute of the visit! A tip for those who intend to visit is before starting to take pictures (he really leaves the truck in front) is to ask permission for Oscar or his wife, they live in the back, he just doesn't want unknown people to enter his property without authorization, like any of us! He will remove the truck and you will get wonderful pictures! See more..

4.5Sacred Heart Catholic Church(23 reviews) - Lovely, welcoming church & community Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals
My husband and I recently got married at Sacred Heart, and it was just beautiful – everything we had hoped and waited for over two years of COVID postponements. The church is lovely, intimate, and inviting, and we so appreciated the kind assistance we received from Anne Rising, Fr. Jim Rafferty, and Claudia Drachenberg leading up to the big day. Although we live out of state and are not parishioners, the church accommodated us as my elderly grandmother lives in San Diego and I grew up going to mass at Sacred Heart during holidays. I have many special memories at the church and felt so fortunate to have been married there as well. Thank you for everything!See more..
While in the museum of Elverhoj, I was smitten by the amazing wood carvings of Jes P Smidt. On one of the plaques, it mentioned that he had done most of the carving at Bethania Lutheran Church. Since it was so very close, we thought we would take a piece. WOW! Were we surprised!! The woodwork on the reredos and the alter box are outstanding examples of a master woodcarver. If you are into history and culture, this is a must see. I would caution you that is a church and to be sensitive of ceremony or services, but you'll be lucky if you get to take a peek.See more..
We love finding and walking labyrinths, and finding this one tucked behind so many tasting rooms and gift shops was a real treat. Adjacent the garden is a beautifully landscaped churchyard cemetery and also on the grounds is a lovely church. We love their posted welcome sign that says people of all faiths, and those with none are all welcomed there. A very peaceful place. We have also walked the labyrinth at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cambria, which is also quite peaceful. St. Mark's is very accommodating and welcoming to out of town visitors and even leave their restrooms open for the public during the day. We had a great experience.See more..

We held our funeral service for my father who passed away on 27th Jan 2022. We chose Rose Hills Memorial Park to rest my father and decided to go with SkyRose Chapel for the funeral service because it had everything that my father would have loved - the magnificent skyline and view of downtown LA, sky high vaulted glass ceiling, elegant architecture, space and air. Both our funeral director Jael and AV director Tim were also very experienced and professional. The chapel has enough natural lighting but not in a harsh way, so you still lights inside, which makes everything look even prettier and more elegant. The super high vaulted glass ceiling also makes everything sound extra beautiful and round. The white grand piano was a pleasant surprise and upgraded the whole service experience to the next level. Everything was solemn and beautiful, just like the way my father would have wanted it. Thank you.See more..

It has a grand profile, enhanced by fine brick work and flourishes of embellishment on the facades. A bi-coloured steeple rising heavenwards is outstanding. It is placed in a tranquil green space with seating and a fountain. An impressive stone cross has a prie-dieu in front allowing the offering of prayers. It has a very long history of serving well the congregation. First ceremonies were in 1888 and its official dedication was five years later.
