Others with full wedding parties, lugging coolers and valet bags. The most Congratulatory Hike full of beautiful brides and grooms I've ever been on and also, as reviews indicate, one of Yosemite's best views. TIP: You won't see a bride on this trail in 2022. 2nd time at potato chip rock in San Diego. I woke up at 8am to summit both of my papers. Afterward, decided to drove my-self 150 miles to San Diego @ Potato chip rock. what a fun day, started off strong, however, after 30mins incline, my physical exhaustion kick in, and so I took multiple breaks in between. After 1hr 30mins I finally reach my destination. It took me 20mins just to take pictures because the line was so long and people helping each other taking pictures. The first day of summer breaks off to a great start...Next stop is unknown but will be more challenge.......#saturdayfunday #quarentineday #selfcare #potatochips #sandiego #hotaummersun #rock #tree #lake #antena #firstyeargradcompleted #timetocelebrateandgetbackinshape #timetodiscipline #timetomotivate #timeforchanged #humblelove #saturdaylived #goal #focus #nevergiveup See more..

Simply a day to treasure as well as a trip of a lifetime. See more..

  30. 4.5 Hole in the Wall (50 reviews)
    - Stunning views
    Geologic Formations
    Hole in the Wall image
The drive to here was another free concert . The views in coffee bay will always make you stop and enjoy the peace and raw beauty of nature at its best. Although while driving here I would suggest to be very careful as there are so many stray animals running right and left to avoid hitting them or running off the cliff. I heard if you kill any one of them you’ll pay a sum. For example a goat will cost you about 5000 rand thereabout. Secondly when you get to hole in the wall, there are group of guys who will try to pitch you in to pay them To take you down there or watch after your car, just stay calm, the ones we saw were really nice and harmless although I heard if you don’t pay them there’s possibility of breaking into your car. So either say I have just a little than push them off but just stay calm and don’t freak out. Seeing the group you might think they are gonna rob you off your belongings but that’s not the case. The hole in the wall wow wow is just beautiful See more..

  32. 4.5 Hall of Horrors (30 reviews)
    - Fab slot canyon being missed!!!
Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
    Hall of Horrors image
First of all, Hall of Horrors is named for the slot canyon inside one of the groupings of rocks. I’m amazed that the reviews aren’t mentioning it!!!! People are missing it!! That’s the reason you come to this particular site. You’ll have to investigate how to find it because it’s not easy and there are some rocks to climb getting to it…but once you find it, it’s awesome! You might want to have a few people with you to help giving a leg up etc. for the initial climb needed. I’m only 5’4 and I needed help and so did my 5’10 husband. We met up with another couple determined to find it and we were able to help each other. I’m attaching a photo so you will know what awaits you! See more..

    - Great for Rock Climbing or Hiking
    Geologic Formations
    Wonderland of Rocks image
This area, which is much less-traveled than the adjacent Hidden Valley, is absolutely stunning and perfect for both rock climbers and hikers alike. When I visited, I saw a few groups lead climbing, and one group trad climbing. The rocks are rated at about a 5.9...definitely not for the faint of heart! I hiked through this jungle of rock, and really enjoyed the scenery. It's very humbling, and I experienced moments of absolute silence to just take it all in. Definitely worth seeing over Hidden Valley...fewer people, and a much more impressive demonstration of the granite rock formations. See more..

    Butler Peak image
Venture up from Fawnskin (4x4) to the locked gate(call ahead, sometimes it is open). From the locked gate, you will hike uphill 2.5 miles to the bottom of the tower. There is shade in a few spots on the way up. Plan accordingly and bring plenty of water. During the summer season or fire season, you will likely find a volunteer in the tower. Climb up and you are welcomed in to some spectacular 360 degree views. The hosts are great in pointing out the landmarks, sights and history of the tower. They seem to really enjoy the company. Unlike other areas towers that you can drive the entire way, you have to work a bit to get to Butler. But you will be rewarded with less people, if any at all and fantastic views. See more..

  40. 4.5 Hayward Fault Exposed (10 reviews)
    - Fascinating
    Geologic Formations
    Hayward Fault Exposed image
The Hayward Fault is a geological fault under the earth capable of generating strong earthquakes. Nearly 3 million people live directly above it. Fremont is one of about 8 cities that is located on this fault. The Fault runs right through a densely populated area. There is a sign in Central Park clearly showing what happens when the tectonic plates moved years ago, and have caused the pavement to be misaligned. It was a fascinating earthquake education for people who do not live in CA. For those who are interested in viewing the cute sign, it is located on Sail Way Drive as soon as you enter the Park from the Paseo Padre Parkway. Worth a visit See more..

  42. 4.5 Black Point Fissures (6 reviews)
    - Very unusual formations; you'll probably be alone there
    Geologic Formations
    Black Point Fissures image
The fissures are a little hard to find. Take Cemetery Road till you get to the BP road. It's mostly washboard for several miles. Hike to the fissures is maybe 45 - 60 minutes and the going is a little slow because you're walking on sand. Leave plenty of time for exploring; perhaps 1 - 2 hours. You can go down into some. Worth it if you like to see unusual formations and don't mind hiking without a known trail. Plenty of solitude, there MAY be one other group there but I doubt it. In the summer, can get hot in the afternoon. If you have a GPS, to to 38 01 36 N, 119 05 15 W. If you have really young kids, keep in mind that there are hundreds of opportunities for them to fall into a crevice. Wear long pants; or your legs will get pretty scratched up. See more..
