Can't say enough about how special my marriage proposal was with the help of Tahoe Helicopters. Joshua and our pilot, Matt helped me plan the perfect proposal window as we ascended into the winter wonderland of South Lake Tahoe. Both gentlemen were friendly and playful as we rolled out this surprise to my girl friend. My new fiance, Mary was literally swept off her feet. The quality communications headsets we wore during the flight made the proposal and conversation effortless. The Robinson helicopter was modern, luxurious and the slow, low flight at around 1000ft was the spectacular "view" I was dreaming of. What a backdrop to begin the new year and a new life together! We did a 30 min tour that went over Santa Monica and Venice beach then over Hollywood and downtown LA. It was awesome! We had a driver that picked us up from our hotel in Beverly Hills. He was super nice. He also took our photos when we got to the helicopter and did an excellent job! Our pilot, Robin, was fun! He was very entertaining and informative. We had a wonderful ride with Star Helicopters. Everything from the booking process, to the text reminders, and our flight itself was excellent. Our one-hour flight took us through a scenic path of the coastline, inland towards the city, and great views of Los Angeles landmarks. My father has wanted to see whales for years but never went on a whale watch tour by boat. He's now too unsteady for a boat so we took him by helicopter over Monterey Bay. The staff at Specialized Helicopter were very helpful in getting him in and out of the helicopter and it was comfortable for him and for the rest of us. It was a grand day and we were able to see several pods of dolphins (too high up to identify type) and a couple of gray whales. The day was truly beautiful and we had gorgeous views of the Monterey Bay area and the coast. While seeing whales from the air isn't the best way to go as they are so far away, it worked for the circumstances. The trip itself was breathtaking. See more..

I had a great time on a Sunday afternoon with Great Adventure, flying out of Whiting Field. After hitting both Burbank and Van Nuys for a heli flight (with "no joy") I lucked on to these guys. They got a pilot out on short notice to meet me at 3 PM at Whiting. I did a spectacular solo trip with the pilot for $300. Flight route was through a pass in Encino, out over Santa Monica, the beach and pier, then back towards the Capital Records building, the Hollywood sign, Aaron Spelling's mansion, and back through the pass to Whiting. I can't recommend them enough. It was the highlight of my touristy trip to LA (from South Carolina) Do it, and I promise you wouldn't regret it--as long as you're not afraid of heights! See more..

I had a wonderful time on this tour. Michael was a great pilot who was flexible with time and very funny. I would go again in a heartbeat. This is something all people should go to, even people who live in LA. As someone who lives in LA themselves it was still a new experience and a way I had never seen LA before.
