4.5Balboa Park(13.0k reviews) - A gorgeous park that is a must-visit Friday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
This 1,200-acre nature park comprises 17 museums, gardens, musical theaters, a sports complex, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. The park’s Spanish-Moorish architecture and 19 distinct gardens (some require admission fees) attract both tourists and locals. Don’t miss the San Diego Air and Space Museum, the Spanish Village Art Center for unique handicrafts, and the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, where free concerts are hosted in the evenings. Travelers recommend putting aside the whole day to explore the park. To make the most of your time, hop on the Balboa Park trams (they’re free!) to get around. – TripadvisorSee more..
4.0Tarzan's Treehouse(239 reviews)from $285.00 - Fun to walk through Playgrounds
I always enjoy walking through Tarzans Treehouse. It's a nice classic and has some good views. It's a great high up spot to get a picture with a lot of Disneyland park in the background. See more..
This part of California Adventure is a brilliant idea!! Our four grandkids, as well as the adults, played, climbed, slid, and the kids ziplined for at least an hour. It was spacious, uncrowded and inviting. It was hard to keep track of the kids but they'd pop up high above us or run past on the trails. I wish there was a place like this in Disneyland. Yes, we go for the rides and attractions but sometimes little ones (and big ones) need a place to run around as opposed to standing in lines. This was awesome!See more..
We didn’t make it over to ToonTown until the end of the day on our one day visit to Disney; as adults I guess we thought it wouldn’t be as interesting but we actually loved the entire “land”. It’s like being inside a cartoon :)See more..

4.5Yucaipa Regional Park(86 reviews) - Fishing is great Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Parks • Playgrounds

Great for kids who like to build stuff, climb, and/or ride a zip line (in other words, most kids). Agree with previous reviews that if you are a hovering or very nervous parent, this may not be for you. If you can relax on the edges, help little kids, or help the staff, it is a wonderful place. My 13 year old was at the edge of the recommended age for this place, but spent a couple very happy hours here, building. Her creation started as a box and ended up a bird house, but the key was that she got to build it on her own, with no parental or teacher direction. She did meet very kind people staffing the park, and I met great people from all over the Bay area. Tip: start by collecting nails from the ground in order to trade them in for a hammer (or paint or a saw). (There are boards with instructions about this too.) Parents can help dig dirt back onto the top of the landing pile at the end of the zip line (or in other ways--ask the staff where they need help.) See more..
This is a great spot for families to bring the kids to play. The one drawback is that it is directly alongside the train tracks and the train whistle is very loud possibly causing hearing damage! Otherwise, a nice spot for kids to hang out. See more..
4.5Kit Carson Park(34 reviews) - Perfect early morning walk Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
The park has an upper trail loop and lower trail loop. I recommend parking at the playground near the entrance and taking the trail on the backside of the play structure towards the entrance. The trail goes past a little pond then connects with the upper trail after a short stretch of paved trail along the road. When the trail goes right and becomes unpaved, follow it up to the ridge. Nice views. Lots of butterflies. It connects down at the lower end of the park where the fields and frisbee golf course is. You can follow the entrance road back up to where you parked. I clocked 2 miles for 1 hour. See more..
4.0Buccaneer Park(31 reviews) - Such a nice park in a perfect setting Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
Directly across Pacific Street is a great beach area but on the park side of the street, there is much to do and see. The play equipment is well maintained and has a great variety of activities, the cafe in front of the park is a small cafe to grab a bit and sit at the park to eat. It is not generally open in the winter months. On the side of the park is a creek (Loma Alta Creek Marshlands) which has a major bird population. The creek makes its way under a small bridge and out into the ocean across the street. Along the creek, the water weaves among rocks and meanders along, very restful. There is a big white sign on the corner, under the street signs, that identifies this park.See more..

4.5San Lorenzo County Park(17 reviews) - A Hidden Adventure Spot Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds This beautiful green park is hiding well at the edge of the river and west side of King City. Appeared to have several camping options from tent to RV hookups. The day we were there it was lush and green and the park was clean and maintained in both bathrooms and the bbq area and event buildings. The rough winter weather this year seems to have toppled several trees but they have done their best to remove them from areas of use. Seemed a great place to stop for a day or a few. The park also had play grounds for children and contains the Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum(this winter's storms had damaged some of the buildings leading to some closures but it is anticipated to reopen April), an irrigation museum and tons (literally) of old farm equipment.See more..

4.0Wildwood Park(15 reviews) - Nice Neighborhood Park Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
Our family has been to this park a number of times. It is located very near downtown Saratoga. There is a large grassy area, a really nice play area for the kids, bathrooms, and a creek that flows through the edge of the park. All the times we have been there it has been clean and not too crowded. There is also a section with picnic tables and a volleyball court. It's not a large park but it's got a lot to offer. The only downside is that it has a very small parking lot so you may have to park on the street or in a nearby parking lot. There is a warning sign about the bacteria levels in the creek so be careful if the little ones interact with the water.See more..

4.5Carmichael Park(10 reviews) - very enjoyable Friday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes • Playgrounds
Thank you Carmichael park for placing pickle ball courts in the tennis area with lights there are not many places to play when the time change takes place. These are a very nice surface to play on , the one problem is the net is high in the middle and no place to secure it, other than that it is great. my hope is that you could turn these into permanent dedicated courts instead of 4 people being able to enjoy these courts 24 people could enjoy these courts. There would be room for six permanent courts and the lights are already in place . This is one of the fasted growing sports in the country and you would make a large community very happy. thank you for what you have done and if i can be of any help please reach out to me Steve Scott ps: a great place to start a youth group and teach them how to play this great game of pickleballSee more..

We came here with a few kids as a family outing. The first challenge was parking as it's really limited close by or quite a lot, but a reasonable walk to get to the park. The place is clean and there are lots of things for the kids to do. We also flew a kite in the field nearby and took a walk up the stairs to a dead end. It was great fun playing here until our seven year old took off into the playground without us noticing and we couldn't find him. Once the search was over more fun was had once the heart settled down.See more..
4.0Fremont Park(6 reviews) - fun kid time Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes • Parks • Playgrounds My daughter loves this park. It is a great one from what I can tell as well. It is very family friendly. It seems like its a lot more than just a local family park. There are multiple jungle gyms here. The biggest of these has a cimbing structure with a 2-3 story slide! The munchkin absolutely goes crazy to get a chance to race down the two high covered slides. They have a whole bank of swings as well. The swings are for both kids and babies. Pro Tip: There are lots of picnic tables for a family outing or a simple game of chess. Be careful as there are wild rodents running around begging for grub. These rodents have giant fluffy tails and most know them as chipmunks. There are also a number of open grass areas. Thus the kids can play soccar football, catch or wutever. So if your in the area, kick the rugrats out and make them go play...See more..
