One of the best exhibitions I've ever attended at an art museum. I was in heaven. Yes, I do love Hofmann's abstracts and this was my first opportunity to get up nice and close (not too close!) and see all of his masterful brush strokes. We visited on July 4, which just so happened to be a free day :) with only moderate crowds. There are other interesting things to see at this museum, but we were here for Hans. They have an excellent variety of artists and media available. The employees are attentive, but not pests like a used car lot. They will answer your questions, discuss the artist and provide assistance if asked. This gallery is always a fun place to visit any time of year, rain or shine. They host visiting artists throughout the year and we attend these receptions when we can. I unexpectedly drove by this collection while on my way fishing. This is a truly unique and excellent display of metal art. We’ve been to many sculpture gardens in the country, and this one tanks near the top. Especially loved the giraffe who appears to be nibbling on the redwood tree.
