4.0Mystery Spot(1.148 reviews) - Super fun place to explore! Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Mysterious Sites
The Mystery Spot is a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned. But don't take our word for it, come and decide for yourself! The Mystery Spot was discovered in 1939 by a group of surveyors and opened to the public in 1940. The Mystery Spot has amazed and perplexed hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world, and many return time and time again to experience these puzzling variations of gravity, perspective, and height. Some speculate that cones of metal were secretly brought here and buried in our earth as guidance systems for their spacecraft. Some think that it is in fact the spacecraft itself buried deep within the ground. Other theories include carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a hole in the ozone layer, a magma vortex, the highest dielectric biocosmic radiation known anywhere in the world, and radiesthesia. Whatever the cause is, it remains a mystery.See more..

Found this place on a Sat Search and investigated it. Went during day light hours because it is remote area. Found what was maybe going to be a golf area. Pretty much ruined now but it is spread out over a very large area. Dirt road leading to an area that you can park and wander around the site to see. A lot of time was spent on this project and seemed to die 45+ years ago. Easy to find and seeSee more..

3.0The Scary Dairy(1 review) - Urbex in a former mental hospital Mysterious Sites This is only for the jaded traveler who has been to LA more than once. This is a worthy side trip from Point Dune, for instance, or if you’re heading out to Oxnard or Ventura. After parking at the head of a rather hard to find trail, you’ll hike about 10 minutes out to an abandoned hanger that’s lost all its siding. The frame remains the lasting monument of a dairy once run by mental patients as occupational therapy. It’s surrounded by a chain link fence easily dismissed by crawling through a large hole on the west end. You can climb up to the second floor, being careful to step only where you are supported by metal girders. Teens will like this. Even better is the abandoned asylum itself, a veritable treasury of highly crafted graffiti. This will leave an impression. Not exactly haunted, but daunting to the imagination. No doubt many a shock therapy session ran its course here. See more..
