The cemetary is so calm, peaceful and beautiful. Row after row with white crosses in perfect ordning. When you walk along the lines of graves, and read on the headstones it affects you, deap. There are so many graves: 101, 079 amd all of them were just regular persons, who left everything at home and went to war. I'm not from the us but even I can feel the significant impact that holy place has. It's really beautiful when the sun sets, to look at all the graves, wondering who they were, what were they like. I definately recommend spending a few hours there and pay respect to those who are not with us today. We had bougt a bouquet of flowers that we lay on some of the graves. We always go up there late afternoom whn the is still up but has started to go down.See more..

A visit to Riverside national cemetery is a sobering experience. So many of our veterans are passing away there is quite often a funeral in progress at the cemetery. The lakes and fountains make this a beautifully serene and special place of rest. We try and visit here even when we’re not attending a funeral just to honor the heroes of the past. The July 4 celebration that normally takes place was canceled for 2020. I’m sure that that will be back for a future years.See more..

4.5Old City Cemetery(66 reviews) - Amazing Combination of History Plus Beauty Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Cemeteries
After living here 35 years, I visited this cemetery for the first time, today. It was astounding! People are buried here from the Civil War and the Gold Rush eras. You can recognize famous California historical names. The grave stones are historic and poignant. The beauty comes from the green grass, the trees, and the plants in the area. This cemetery is huge! This is a great place to see, for people of all ages over 7. It is a reminder of the many people who have gone before us. It is also a reminder of why we need to get our vaccines!See more..

My brothers service was on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Because of the awful Covid-19 battle that we all are experiencing, there was not a rifle salute nor Color Guard, but the 3 military service people providing the service did a moving and excellent job. Every effort was top-notch, this saying that regardless the situation, the services are truly indeed done with total respect and dignity. The grounds are lovely, vast and well-kept. Mother nature does her part too by keeping the flag(s) waving as it is definitely "gusty" there. Thank you to the military personnel who provided their services that day. It is an honor to have been so honored by your efforts. My brother will rest well.See more..
4.0Sunset Hills Memorial Park(21 reviews) - A beautiful wedding venue and amazing coordinator! Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Cemeteries
What an amazing wedding venue, for such a reasonable price. You wont need a lot of decorations for this venue because it is so beautiful on its own. They allow you to arrive at the venue early in the morning, and drop everything off the night before. This is so rare to find such an all inclusive and accommodating venue like Sunset Hills. We had a ceremony on the lake and a sunset reception on the terrace. It was beautiful and we received so many compliments on the food, venue, and also to our coordinator Adriana. Adriana is a professional wedding coordinator and ensured that the day went off without a hitch, she was running around making sure everything looked perfect and dealt with a very windy day with ease. As a bride, Adriana was a life saver! She ensured my wedding day was stress free. The team that this venue comes with makes the experience that much better, they are the best. I would look no further and choose this beautiful venue for your special day, we are so happy we did!See more..

To get to this hidden jem you must travel down a residential street, then head through a chain link fence down a dirt and cement road. This road is not pretty, it has a pipe line to one side, takes you under the freeway and the other side is a big dirt hill. Not pretty at all, but then low and behold the road splits and to the left of you, down the hill a bit is this beautiful Cemetery. It is maintained beautifully . The history of this place is not missed. Head stones from quite a long time ago. There is an open area that is good for a picnic or even a bit of ball playing. ( I for one believe that cemeteries are made for the living and to be both enjoyed as well remembered ) Check this place out, you will not be disappointed , pro tip. Park by the chain link fence and walk in. Its a small hill but you will get your exercise in. It will also fell like more of an adventure. Enjoy !See more..
The cemetery grounds are themselves well worth visiting, so many beautiful memorials and markers. For me, it was the mausoleum buildings that drew my attention. The beauty of each of them is astounding, and the workmanship and artistic beauty are wonderful. The Pasadena Mausoleum is a family favorite, and the stained glass on so many walls and parts of the ceiling are excellent, the design a tribute to nature, the coloration beautiful. Enjoy!See more..

"Forlorn" is a good word to summarize this place, all that remains of a once-thriving Chinese community of at least 1500 people in Yreka. It is a reminder that it was immigrants from Asia, too, who built America. Note: Tripadvisor's map showing the location of the cemetery is wrong by about a mile. The actual location is east of that shown on the map, under the I-5 underpass, through a set of lights and up a hill. You will see a gazebo on your left about .2 miles from the lights. Olivet Memorial Park was/is a very nice place, my grandfather and my best friend's parents where laid to rest here, When I was going with my grandma to find a place for my grandfather ( I was pretty young) the people who worked here were very friendly and understanding of what my grandmother wanted and what my grandfather requested. They showed us around and helped pick out some nice plots, I have not visited my grandfather's grave in awhile but the last time I was there, they have kept it very nice and green. I know this sounds weird writing about a cemetery, but trust me, very nice quiet plkace and well kept.See more..

Located on a high mesa in San Diego County, Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary has been providing funeral and cemetery services since 1924. It is approximately 11 miles from the center of San Diego and half of a mile from Chula Vista. Glen Abbey is situated in what is now Bonita, formerly a 1,500-acre locale called Lomacita. Bonita is now a highly restricted residential area following the course of the Sweetwater River. Glen Abbey faces Bonita Road, within one mile of the 805 expressway, and the back of the park is bordered by precipitous hills with Mount Miguel to the east and the blue Pacific to the west. Almost the entire area of the park affords an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. From most points in the park, San Diego Harbor, Coronado, the Coronado Bay Bridge, Point Loma and downtown San Diego are visible. The altitude of Glen Abbey is in keeping with the centuries old tradition and desire to bury and memorialize our loved ones in a high place. One of the park's better known features is the Little Chapel of the Roses, a nonsectarian chapel built in 1925. The chapel is an exact scale replica of Lord Tennyson's chapel in Somersby, England. A circular-stained glass window positioned over the altar illustrates a verse of Tennyson's “Crossing the Bar.” A second massive-stained glass window depicts “The Resurrection,” complemented by amber skylights, live singing canaries and living floral arrangements that change with the seasons. The Little Chapel of the Roses is truly symbolic of our trademark, “Where Memory Lives in Beauty.” People travel from all over the world to be married at the Little Chapel of the Roses. Of course the Chapel is always available for memorial services. Equipped to serve any faith and order, the use of the Chapel eliminates long, cumbersome funeral processions through heavy city and freeway traffic. 5.0Mount Eden Cemetery(1 review) - A Nice way to learn one's Local History Spent 1-2 hours Cemeteries I Came across this spot while "waiting out" a traffic jam home from work one day. Mt Eden, was once a town nestled between Hayward on the North, The Clawitter and Patterson ranches to the south and Russel City to the north on older Californian maps. The Cemetery is designated a "pioneer cemetery" (having tombstones dating to the 1860's) and, although in Hayward, is recognized as being in the former city of Mt. Eden. An interesting note is that the cemetery lies less than 1/2 mile from another former city: Russel An active cemetery, the location is still well kept. It is adjacent to both a Jr High and Hayward's community collage. With markers referencing the namesakes of streets and local districts, I'm sure one or more extra credit papers based themselves on the cemetery and it's locally famous residents.See more..
