Amazing Combination of History Plus Beauty
After living here 35 years, I visited this cemetery for the first time, today. It was astounding! People are buried here from the Civil War and the Gold Rush eras. You can recognize famous California historical names. The grave stones are historic and poignant. The beauty comes from the green grass, the trees, and the plants in the area. This cemetery is huge! This is a great place to see, for people of all ages over 7. It is a reminder of the many people who have gone before us. It is also a reminder of why we need to get our vaccines!

lovely afternoon activity
Quite a place with it's rich history. One really needs a guided walk to know all the various stories of this place, especially the hauntings. One finds a lot of Screech Owls adding to it's mystic. The cemetery is old and fun to walk through, just calm and peaceful as well. It's other claim to fame is it's numerous antique roses, many which are only found here and no where else. Their is various walking tours like halloween, roses and history depending on one's interest. The rose society offers rose growing tips, rose cuttings for sale and ask for volunteers to do rose pruning. I'm so glad this place was preserved.
