4.5Long Beach Waterfront(1.103 reviews) - A must visit location when you visit LA. Biking Trails
This was a very unexpected surprise. I thought we were just going to an aquarium until I seen all of the surrounding area. We were able to ride electric scooters all around the waterfront There so many activities, shops, and restaurants. There are homeless people at this location but it is California so that shouldn't surprise you. The Rainbow harbor, the boats, the lighthouse it was all so exciting. This was a great place to spend a day. I would recommend this location to everyone of all ages for all occasions.See more..
A beautiful way to experience nature and see the many different ecosystems available during our three day stay at Avila Beach. Beginning at our hotel, in one direction we could walk through the beautiful, geographically educational wooded area that ended at Ontario Rd., near the 101 Fwy. In the other direction and usually on a bicycle, we explored our way to downtown Avila Beach, Front St. and the ocean. Another day, we continued beyond Front St. and followed the shoreline from downtown to Port San Luis Pier. Truly a wonderful vacation.See more..
We rented bikes from the Crowne Plaza on the Ventura pier and rode the trail from the Pier into Ojai, about 34 miles round trip. Absolutely stunning!!! Easy ride, very gradual ascent so you don’t realize that most of the way is actually uphill. We went slowly on the way up to Ojai, taking in the scenery and even got some nice photos with the gorgeous sunlight! We ate our sandwiches in Ojai and then began the trek back, made it in half the time it took on the way up bec of the easy descent, and caught the beautiful sunset at the Ventura beach at around 530p! There are a couple road crossings; otherwise the bike trail is modestly trafficked with walkers, bikers, children alike and paved all the way up. It seemed like there are more trails to catch in Ojai if you want a longer trek and have time. I would absolutely do this trail again. Go for it if you’re thinking about it! Any level of biking skills can make this journey, just allow yourself enough time.See more..
I really enjoyed this walk with a friend. We were in the area and I thought it would be pleasant to walk the old piece of highway without being spectacular. Actually there is something quite spectacular about it. It’s evocative and a little bit eerie. Best of all was bumping into Eric the docent right at the beginning. He’s a treasure. A font of information and mischievous with it. Thanks Eric for making our day.See more..

My husband and I walk a good portion of the path. He rented and ebike another day and rode the entire path. It's a nice way to see the lake surrounds. There are portapots at each parking area as the buildings are locked due to covid. Therefore, an Adventure Pass did not need to be purchased. See more..
One of the most awesome bike trails anywhere. I did the part from Tahoe City to Olympic Valley. If you're not with children, keep going all the way to Truckee then over to Donner Lake. The Truckee River bike trail is perfect for bicyclers of any age. It's relatively level and there is amazing scenery the whole way. I did it on an e-bike with pedal assist, no throttle. That makes it even better because on the return trip you can boost the pedal assist a bit to get some extra speed. See more..

Yes, there are homeless. Part of society now. Bummer. BUT, if you keep eyes on the natural beauty, birds and smiling families - and maintain a compassionate heart, it’s a lovely ride filled w natural beauty. Me and hubby go every weekend for years now - we feel perfectly safe. We trek over to harbor to enjoy seals or down to strand to watch surfers. We love it!!See more..

Nothing spectacular, but nice walking trail, paved for the first mile and light to moderate thereafter. Mostly pine woods but don't miss the occasional giant sequoia. 4.5Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park(37 reviews) - Family friendly regional park with hiking and lake Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Parks • Hiking Trails
Family-friendly regional park with hiking/biking trails, fishing, playground, and picnic tables. It’s $10 for the entrance fee and there’s plenty of parking inside. The Bonelli Trail is good for hikers and bikers. It’s wide and although it’s not paved, the path was relatively smooth. There were certain portions that were steep but overall the trail was good for exercisers of all levels. The trail was pretty brown when we visited since it’s in the summer; it’s also all exposed and so you’ll need to bring water/wear sunblock (especially since there’s not a lot of shady spots). The trail goes by the freeway but you also see the lake and a neighborhood. In the park, only a limited number of bathrooms are open due to covid. The staff there did wear masks.See more..

4.0Bayshore Bikeway(23 reviews) - Great bike path, almost flat & very scenic. Take water! Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Biking Trails
I rode this bike path from the Coronado Ferry to Imperial Beach and back 3 times during my visit to the area in February. It's nice because it is almost flat, you get a variety of scenery along the way, and Imperial Beach is a perfect lunch time and beach rest turnaround point. I had my own 8 speed bike, not sure I'd want to do it on a 1 speed beach cruiser, the part I did was about 15 miles round trip. One thing, I only found one drinking fountain along the way the first time I did it, which was without much planning and obviously without water or snacks. There are no stores along the way between Coronado and Imperial Beach either. I didn't make that mistake again, the other 2 times I took a little pack along, and a camera! The scenery varies between golf courses and fancy waterfront homes, to the Coronado Bay and shops, to wetland marshes and sandy beaches, to the joy of Imperial Beach the pier, shoreline, shops and restaurants.See more..

I have ridden my bike along the Arroyo Simi Bike Path many times over the years, being a resident of Simi. It has been improved over time to the point that it is a very pleasurable ride. 4.5Shell Ridge Open Space(15 reviews) - Great place for a walk Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Great neighborhood resource. Lots of looping trails where you can walk for as little or as long as you want. One can hike to Borges ranch or all the the way to Mt Diablo state park. Generally their are other people and friendly dogs around. Just be careful of the rattlesnakes during the spring and summer months. I’ve come across them sunning themselves on the trail during the day. See more..
4.5Rincon Bike Trail(14 reviews) - A Must on a Sunny Day! Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails • Scenic Drives
This bike trail has just been constructed along the Rincon south of Carpinteria. The views of the Channel Islands and the coast are spectacular as the beach and waves are right beside you. The route is dead flat and paved in concrete. The trail is 3.6 miles long beginning just south of Carpinteria at the world famous surf break, Rincon Point and continues down the coast to Mobil Pier Road. From there you can either turn around or continue along the old, two lane Hwy 1 that has wide paved shoulders. Bring a snack or ride past the Mobil Pier to Hobson County Park snack shop for a snack and a drink. The ride is easy one for any age and the views are the best!See more..
4.5El Dorado Trail(14 reviews) - trail filled with nature and lovely human touches Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails • Equestrian Trails • Hiking Trails
I’ve used this trail for over a decade! It has beautiful nature and is peaceful. very family, pet, bicyclist, and even horse friendly. there’s a bridge with a river, that you can actually go down to the river (But I think it’s gated now), in the past people used to pan for gold. On the bridge has tons of locks that people have put on them to signify their relationship! There are also benches spread through out, and cool workout areas with instructions! I love when people make little rock towers by the path of the trail. You’ll see cows, and occasionally turkeys. There have been sightings of bears and mountain lions but I haven’t seen any, though I’d always go with someone if at night, otherwise it’s very safe. here is a picture from a few winters ago, along with a few other pics through-out the years.See more..

4.5Sulphur Mountain(10 reviews) - Spectacular views and bike ride Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails
On a sunny March morning, my wife and I road up the road side on Sulphur and came down the dirt trails. It was a heart pumping 800 meter climb to the top but once there the views of the valley was spectacular. On this clear day, the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands were within sight. The way down can be a bit technical, especially given the spring mud. I was on a gravel bike and my wife on a Benno e-bike. You definitely need some stubby tires and a sturdy bike. I am an avid road cyclist but could not have done this without the support of our guide Kelly from the Mob Bike Shop. I would definitely recommend hiring a guide if new to this area. Otherwise finding the path and navigating the spring mud would have been a bit much. See more..
