I found myself in Rancho Cucamonga with an open morning and decided to squeeze in a round of golf. A quick search led me to Sierra Lakes and it was a great choice. The course was in outstanding condition. Smooth greens, good sand in the bunkers, and excellent turf throughout. The layout strikes a nice balance between challenge and playability. There are certainly plenty of bad places to be, but a decently struck shot isn't ever punished and a good shot is rewarded. As a rule, I am not overly fond of courses threaded through housing developments, but there is plenty of space here and the homes never feel intrusive. None of the holes felt like they were squeezed in, which is all too common in housing development courses. It was a really enjoyable round. I will play here again should I ever be back in the area.See more..

It doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks… the course is now officially closed, the land is scheduled for an upscale housing development. No more golf but it was good while it lasted. If there is an upside to this news it's that if/when the new houses are built the owners will have to contend with high winds and blowing dust for a part of the year, and let's not forget the all the coyotes coming in from the surrounding hills and open land. Hiddenbrooke was taking a turn for the worst until a recent change in ownership. You can see the improvements being made. Their tee boxes were the worst before but you can see the improvements to the tee box today. They are in excellent shape. The bunkers are being worked on with “fluffy” sand. Some bunkers still need work but you can see the course is getting better. Greens are in great shape and fairways are in better shape than a year ago. Clean up of trees and the cutting of long grass shows a better course for players. I am impressed. Keep up the great work.See more..

I don't know what somebody was complaining about. I played 18 holes on an absolutely beautiful golf course, the greens were like putting on a pool table, the cart was included and it cost me $45! It is a tough course, so be honest with yourself about the size of your, ahhh, you know what I mean. Play from the gold tees. . . Golf wouldn't be golf without a hotdog at the turn. We were at the Greens for a special wine and food tasting event the other night. What a great place to hold an event! They'd set up tables and a band near the entrance and it couldn't have been lovelier. We sampled delicious local wines and yummy food from local restaurants.
