What an awesome place. The view from the parking lot is very impressive. Then off to the tasting. The host who poured out our flights is an expert at spirits and she also gave us a little lesson on spirits tasting. Our drinking age family members all enjoyed this visit. If you like spirits, it is a must visit. Also a few doors down, there is a brewery serving a nice selection of beers and food truck right outside. The brewery is very family friendly. This was a winning surprise tucked away from the highway. Fabulous grounds, great tasting cider in many flavors and cheerful friendly service. Great play areas for children and families. We were even permitted an overnight stay in the back wooded area in our RV. Right next to a gently flowing stream lined with tall oaks and bordered by the Apple Orchard. Trails for walking to the mine, views of the lake, and trails for bike riding. Will definitely return.See more..

Dry Diggings and Amador Distillery are located in El Dorado Hills just south of Highway 50. We are a small distillery that currently has over 30 brands in production. While visiting breweries around Redlands, we found this distillery was just across the parking lot of a great brewery. Thinking we would go in for a whiskey flight, it was fun to find that they offered wonderful cocktails to taste the fruits of their labor. They make some very smooth & wonderful spirits, and create the best cocktails I've ever tasted....Old Fashions, Manhattans, TT Spice, Lemon Drop, Gin Rickey and the list goes on, they will make one up for you too if you ask and let the wonderful staff create for you. Smooth Bourbon, Whiskey, Blue Korn Clear, Gin, Vodka + a couple others...they also make most of their own simple syrup flavors (habanero, ginger, jalapeno & more). We stopped by three days in a row to try more creations, so well worth it! The staff here are wonderful and friendly, full of knowledge and just fun to be around, make you feel like family. They do not serve food (they do have snacks), but you are more than welcome to bring food in to enjoy with your cocktails. I will come by and visit everytime I'm back in Redlands....wish they were closer to home....if you are in the area it is a must try - I cannot say enough good things about this place - quality, taste, atmosphere, people, fun....a must do in Redlands. Just a note....this is NOT an activity, especially for families with children - it's a bar, you need to be 21 to get in.See more..

We had a VIP experience touring the distillery. Started with a tasting that literally re-calibrated my entire palate to what whiskey, bourbon, and rye should be. Then we walked through the historic buildings and got the complete lowdown on how this liquid gold is produced, from the grains used, the stills and containers it's distilled in, to the specific barrels it's aged in. The folks that run the distillery do the tours and can tell you everything about the operation. We even got some ghost stories and spy tales that come from the military history of the site. Glad we did. Mike was at the counter when we arrived. Very friendly and knowledgeable about distilling. He has Bourbon, Rum, Uisge Beatha, Rye Whiskey, and Moonshine of all flavors. We had a good time talking about different aspects of distilling and types of grains used for the different spirits. Tried several spirits. Enjoyed the bourbon, uisge beatha, and rye. He also has an almond flavored uisge beatha. Most of the spirts are distilled to 80proof. The bourbon is smooth and flavorful. Ended up taking home the bourbon, pure moonshine, and watermelon moonshine. Highly recommend stopping by and exploring the different spirits. We will definitely be back.See more..
We had a wonderful tasting experience at the newly-renovated Copper Collar Distillery location in Santee! Their vodka and rum have amazing flavor profiles all on their own, but these guys know how to make an excellent cocktail as well.
