Captain Scottie took great care of us while we celebrated with a group of 10 during a 4-hour tour. It was overcast and they reached out to us 1-2 days before to find out if we’d prefer to move to another day/time that might be more sunny. We decided to proceed with the overcast day and the boat was prepped with enclosures to keep us warm. It turned out to be a mostly beautiful day and Scottie took us around Lake Tahoe while sharing his knowledge of the area. He was a great host and took pictures of the group at various points, all while ensuring that we were having a good time. He was very accommodating to our wants and probably had a good laugh while some of the group enjoyed a COLD dip in the lake. Thanks to Lake Tahoe Boat rides for helping to make our trip a success! This tour is a must do if you're visiting LA! My partner and I just got back from 5 days in Los Angeles, and the tour was a definite highlight for us. We opted for a half day tour and it was honestly fantastic, the day went so quickly and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we wished we had done a full day instead. You really get to see so many great places that you might not make it to otherwise, depending on where you're staying. The best part about the whole experience though was our guide Joss! He made us feel so welcome and comfortable that we were able to just relax and enjoy the day. He also gave us some great suggestions of where to go and places to eat for the remainder of our trip which was great because we love our food. We've done many different types of day-tours before and Joss is hands-down the best guide we've had the pleasure of meeting. We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting LA and happily go on another tour with Joss! See more..
  3. 5.0 Monterey Bay Hydrobikes (84 reviews)
    - Wonderful way to see sealife upclose
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Boat Rentals
    Monterey Bay Hydrobikes image
We have kayaked in the area before but never hydrobike. We made the reservation a month prior as we were camping in the area. This is a good activity as you are not so close to others with some distance involved. I bike frequently so I thought the ride was fun but my companions rarely bike, if ever, and it was a little tiring for them. The guy would make recommendations if you asked questions, and he recommended us to take the 8:30 appointment so easier for us with tide rising. However, he can not predict the weather but it did end up being perfect weather with sun coming out about 45 minutes into our ride. The bike is safe weight over 100#, so it was fine standing on the side or stand up to watch sealife while riding. Definitely a highly suggested activity. See more..
  4. 5.0 Tahoe Jet Boats (65 reviews)
    - Great North Tahoe boating experience!

Dave was awesome! Not the cheapest option, but a quality one. He was great with teaching our young adults to wakeboard and ski. Our family group of 7 ranged in ages from 21 - 78 and every one of us had fun. He took some wonderful photos and his little side kick Leo is the most adorable boat dog ever. My son called him the Customer Service Department. North Tahoe was definitely a great place to boat because we had lots of space and almost no other boats to work around. Beautiful drive there from South Lake Tahoe. Don't ignore the water shoes advice because the beaches to get down to the water are rocks and pebbles, not sand. It's the trade off for not having super crowded beaches and water space. Once you're on the boat, the beach is irrelevant. As an idea, if you have more than the 6 that's allowed on the boat, we rented a jet ski from another local boat company and rotated our extra people onto the jet ski every 30 minutes. It worked out great! See more..
  5. 3.5 Pine Mountain Lake Marina (27 reviews)
    - Swim, picnic and stroll by the lake
Water Sports • Boat Rentals • Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Pine Mountain Lake Marina image
The Marina has many facilities - picnic tables, nice restrooms, a food takeout, kayak hire, summer inflatables and rafts in the summer, security boats tootling up and down ... but watch out for the goose poop! They clean it every morning, and have goose-dog patrols to try and keep the geese away. 4th of July gets very crowded for the great fireworks, but otherwise plenty of space and lots of sun and laughter. You need to get in with a resident, as this is in a gated community. See more..

    - Exceptional day with whales

What an exceptional experience! I did the full day 7 hour tour and it delivered: we saw many humpback whales, over a hundred Risso’s dolphins (including Casper, the albino one!) and so many sea lions. As someone who works in marine conservation, good boat practices are really important to me to not disturb the animals. Mary and Mike follow very high standards. With the full tour, it was great how we could stay at a location for awhile - the whales became comfortable w us and at times came right up to the boat without us approaching them! Mary and Mike were able to identify many of the individual whales and tell us their names and unique behaviors. The boat is small but roomy and there is a bathroom, fresh water, and sunscreen onboard. 10/10 best Monterey whale watching experience I’ve had. See more..

  9. 4.0 Sierra Marina (3 reviews)
    - Something for Everyone at Shaver Lake!
    Gear Rentals • Boat Rentals
    Sierra Marina image
We rented a boat slip for our boat over the 4th of July weekend at Shaver Lake and loved the location, the price and the service at Sierra Marina. They offer a full service marina including gas, snacks, ice and all types of water sport rentals for a fun filled day at the lake. We brought our boat up for the long weekend, but our friends who accompanied us rented a pontoon boat one day to take their family out on the lake and loved it. Shannon and the group at Sierra were wonderful and took good care of us. We stayed late on the lake on Saturday and they were standing by ready to help us into our slip as we came in after dark! Other friends rented a wave runner and had lots of fun too! If they don't have it, you don't need it! See more..
  10. 5.0 California Windsurfing (2 reviews)
    - A great place to enjoy your surfing passion.

    California Windsurfing image
The Lagoon next to Lyon J Park is n excellent place to enjoy your surfing passion. Get your equipment and surf, sail, canoe, kayak, paddle boat in the lagoon. The winds on most days are fantastic and extremely challenging for the passionate surfers. There is also a rental available on site but check on timings and rates -though i found it open on all evenings. The entire day is good and evenings from 1700 h to 2200 h are fantastic.I am sure you will love it. The Park hosts a number of events on most weekends but water sports continue without stoppage -in fact it can be great family outing for those not involved in water sports also. The scenic beauty is astonishing. The market centre is just across the road for the foodies and your Groceries. In fact the July 4 fireworks display and water sports was a great outing at the lagoon. You can Picnic here with your full gear Tents,Tables ,cooking utensils etc See more..
  11. 5.0 Mono Lake Kayak Rentals (1 review)
    - Good Time
    Boat Rentals
    Mono Lake Kayak Rentals image
This is a very low-key, one-man operation. Tom, the business owner, is flexible and approachable. He usually opens at 8:00 a.m. but will arrive early upon request (he did that for us). He offers one and two-person kayaks at very reasonable prices. Rentals are by the hour, and he takes cash or credit cards. Unfortunately, he does not have an address, although he had a phone number. Thus, he is located by going to the parking lot across from the Tioga Lodge. There is a small road there that leads down to his business. The shed you see here on Trip Advisor is no longer there due to a fire (according to Tom). The Kayaks are in great condition, although only ocean-going Kayaks are offered. Tom asks that you bring a cell phone on the boat so he can call you in if bad weather is imminent. Going out early is essential as the afternoon wind usually stops rentals by 1:00 p.m. Additionally, you need to roll, wheels are provided, your kayak down and back to the water. This journey is about 200 yards. Individuals with health problems might find pulling the kayak back up too difficult. Mono Lake itself is beautiful. We had it all to ourselves. The tufu structures are the area to navigate to. Tom will point you the right direction. We saw several Osprey on our outing. This is the best way to experience the soul of the lake. See more..
  12. 5.0 Old Bridge Rafting (1 review)
    - Easy Ride

    Old Bridge Rafting image
Scott is awesome. Super kind and easy going. The Trinity was pretty calm and cool when we went in August. Had three kids and three adults, plus two small dogs. Took exactly the amount of time Scott said it would. Really beautiful. Water a bit cold for a swim for some of us, even though it was super hot. Easy ride, not too much to do. Was a good journey. Worth the time and money for sure. Thanks Scott! See more..
