  1. 5.0 Rose Parade (208 reviews)
    - Al Brooks Best decision for my Rose Parade Bucket list trip
    Cultural Events
    Rose Parade image
If you are planning a trip to the rose parade and don't want to deal with 20 hours in the trenches camping on the street, stop looking any further for a GREAT Rose Parade tour company. Al Brooks Rose Bowl Tours is THE BEST!! Cannot say enough good things about Al Brooks. I truly felt like family with every representative in the office and onsite. Our Guide Jim was AWESOME! We did the Orange Rose package and added float decorating the day before. Highly recommend if you have a chance to volunteer to help with float construction. You will truly understand the dedication, scale and detail put into these floats as well as the monstrous amount of work. We had great seats at the parade in the grandstands on Colorado blvd, watching them round the corner then come past our seats! The Rose Parade is something everyone should experience at once in their lifetime, and Al Brooks was the right choice to make it easy, affordable and fun! See more..
  2. 4.0 LA County Fair (74 reviews)
    - My Family's Favorite Tradition
    Cultural Events
    LA County Fair image
Founded in the 1920s in Pomona, CA, the LA County Fair is as much a celebration of California’s agricultural history as it is good ole’ summer fun. Carnival rides, parades, and fair animals are commonplace here as are any fried food or barbecue staple you can imagine. The fair has also incorporated some more contemporary elements over the years like local art exhibitions and a summer concert series featuring iconic musical artists like Patti Labelle and Lynyrd Skynyrd. A whimsical time for the whole family with non-stop California sunshine to boot. See more..

    Northern California Renaissance Faire image
I have followed the Ren Faire from the early 70's, first in SF, then out at Black point in Marin. then I learned after moving down to Gilroy that it was at Casa De Fruta, and the family and I go each year we can. It only happens in the fall, not a year-round event. Come in costume (or be made fun of) this is an interactive event don't just come as a spectator. See more..

Great experience for all ages! Went with my family last Wednesday evening and enjoyed a cocktrail from the "Spookeasy Bar" and taking a stoll through the Halloween pumpkin trail aka "Jack's Trail" on this beautiful & creatively decorated ranch. Although it is a bit pricey, it is a wonderful time for the family & great for making those memories! See more..

  7. 3.0 The Great Dickens Christmas Fair (2 reviews)
    - Your time is better spent watching grass grow than attending this show!
Spent More than 3 hours Cultural Events
Our family has attended the Dickens Fair for many years in the Cow Palace. Last year it was cancelled due to the pandemic. This year has zero resemblance to prior years events. We were basically prisoners in our car for almost 5 hours. We attended on Dec. 5 2021, the first day. You remain in your car mostly stopped, driving around the outside of the Cow Palace to see about 5 small open garage door stages with actors in the scenes and picking up food that you ordered at the beginning. At the end there is a small parking lot with a stage show of something which you can't see unless your car is in the front row. The only other things along the 5 hours was a mule drawn wagon with a few characters , one juggler and a few character actors. All of this for $26/ticket plus tax and the cost of food that you had to order at the beginning! See more..
