I did the full day 7 hour tour and it delivered: we saw many humpback whales, over a hundred Risso’s dolphins (including Casper, the albino one!) and so many sea lions. As someone who works in marine conservation, good boat practices are really important to me to not disturb the animals. Mary and Mike follow very high standards. With the full tour, it was great how we could stay at a location for awhile - the whales became comfortable w us and at times came right up to the boat without us approaching them! Mary and Mike were able to identify many of the individual whales and tell us their names and unique behaviors. Awesome, awesome experience! My husband and I went back up to Sonoma for a long weekend and wanted to do another wine tour. Soma, our drive, was amazzzzzzing. I had initially booked an SUV and there was an issue, so we ended up with (a brand new, fully load, very comfy) sedan instead. We didn't even know about this until the car showed up--we were very impressed that they did this, to correct an issue we didn't even know existed! Soman also gave us an extra hour for the "inconvenience." Really....not an issue. So--not only was he early and brought us wine--he had AWESOME suggestions on where to go! We checked out more southern Sonoma Valley and he knew exactly where to take us, based on what we liked. I also want to note: I wasn't feeling great due to too much wine at JCB the night before....but he took it in stride. He found me meds and hydration. Literally went above and beyond. Pluses: Dependable (not a given; I can remember occasions when others without consulting with me have selected other van services to get me back to SFO, and had the van just plain not show up). Less expensive than an $80+ cab ride. Able to handle multiple large suitcases if you give them a heads-up. Minuses: Far *more* expensive than a BART trip (but then you have to figure out how to get from the BART station to/from your local destination). And on some days the most time-consuming way to make the trip, since it is rare that any of those other folks jammed into the van will be going to the same place as you.
