Captain Scottie took great care of us while we celebrated with a group of 10 during a 4-hour tour. It was overcast and they reached out to us 1-2 days before to find out if we’d prefer to move to another day/time that might be more sunny. We decided to proceed with the overcast day and the boat was prepped with enclosures to keep us warm. It turned out to be a mostly beautiful day and Scottie took us around Lake Tahoe while sharing his knowledge of the area. He was a great host and took pictures of the group at various points, all while ensuring that we were having a good time. He was very accommodating to our wants and probably had a good laugh while some of the group enjoyed a COLD dip in the lake. Our guide, Jim, went above and beyond given the weather was not cooperating to move us around the rain. So many amazing locations I would not have found on my own. He also shared a lot of great tips and techniques at each stop. Mother nature did however bless us with views of a rainbow from our very first stop right up to our return. Amazing tour and guide. We had a great experience! Staff was very helpful. The boats left on time and the Captain was great about stopping to let us watch a pod of dolphins swim by! Definitely dress in layers (we were hot on shore, but cold when the wind hit) and bring a water proof outer layer if you plan to ride on the outside of the boat. Dave "the dude" aka "shadow" was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made our experience extra special and was able to put us on all the hot spots so we could see the best spots and get the best photos. He was willing to answer questions and make the experience extra personal to fit our needs. The packed lunch was great and he came prepared with tons of drinks and snacks ! More than enough to hold us through the day. He was very adaptable to what we wanted to do and had great covid protocols. Been on this boat several times. Recent was in 1:30 afternoon in late July and partly cloudy so not as hot as it would have been. The captain told us a lot of information about the lake from inception on way to Emerald Bay which I thought was very good. The captain played music and is open to playing something you like. It was not particularly crowded the day we went so we could sit anywhere. A beautiful lake to see by boat that you don’t see by car. The menu on boat is fairly good but is pricey. I would suggest eat before you go though unless want salad or hamburger. I do not recommend the nachos unless you like velveta type cheese. Good for all ages. We took our group of 16 on a 1 hour trail ride. We had 6 adults and 10 kids ages 6-16. Some with a little experience and some with none. I was super impressed with their managing of our large group. From matching us up to appropriate horses, to teaching the kids the basics, to engaging with the kids and intentionally learning our names. The entire staff, every guide, was friendly, personable, intent on providing a fun but safe experience. I love that we had four guides go out with us, spaced apart. I loved that we did some training. I loved that we went through creeks and up and down the mountains. Every kid loved the experience, it was a trip highlight. We recently completed our second backcountry backpack trip with Yosemite Guide Service. Last year it was just the two of us but this year it was us two and four friends. Every step, every view, every climb, every descent, and every swim in a frigid alpine lake was totally worth it. John is a professional guide in every way, enhancing our hikes with knowledge of the majestic Sierra plants, flowers, ecology, geology, and more. We did a four-night, five-day adventure starting near Mammoth Lakes, then out to Thousand Island Lake, Garnet Lake, and Shadow Lake. John's customized service, hospitality, sense of humor, and great personality made the trip all that much more enjoyable. For Father’s Day, I treated my father to a fly fishing trip with Echo. Bryant, our guide, took us into Yosemite valley where we spent the day in the river with amazing views all around. Bryant was super fun and patient with me while teaching me to fly fish. My dad picked it up much more quickly than I did and caught several trout! Watching the setting sun light up El Cap while standing in the Merced River was truly awesome. Bryant was personable, professional and a great teacher. Highly recommended!!See more..
If you want an exciting activity, just hop in one of these planes with an awesome pilot! We live in Southern California and hike the trails we flew over making this experience even more exciting, in fact we were hiking one day when one of these planes swished over the mountain we were hiking.....wanted to glide ever since! This was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. My boyfriend wanted to propose to me, and Tim and Erin made sure that I was completely surprised the whole time. A leisurely Sunday after Thanksgiving weekend led us to visit the museum and garden. It was recommended by a friend with young kids. It is atmospheric and welcoming. I learnt so much history on the grist mill and its founders the Friars. Outside in the grounds you see the millstone which General Pattern discovered in Huntington Gardens and it was returned to the mill. Being a "mature" citizen, I felt I had to go for a glider ride...Been putting it off..so called , made a reservation for 10 am on a sunny July day. Michael my pilot showed up on time and even got to meet the boss, Travis. Nice folks! Got a nice orientation before climbing on board and put on a parachute! I was up for a few aerobatics! The tow plane took us up, I pulled the handle and we were free as a bird, soaring on the currents...Michael was the best and did a couple loops to show me a real thrill. He stuck the landing PERFECT! We had SO much fun that we are actually hooked on the idea of buying a couple pedegos! First off, Linda was the absolute best. She took care of us the whole time, let my boyfriend ride her personal decked out bike and informed us completely on how they work (it was our first time.) Her humor, personality and kindness is what gave the experience that special type of customer service you don’t always get anymore these days. We rented bikes as our Valentines Day celebration. Took them to Westlake Lake and Lake Sherwood. It was childlike, romantic and fun all at the same time. We loved the fact you can do everything yourself, have pedal assist or go full electric. This took biking to a whole new level!
