I see quite a few 'raters' really didn't have a good time here but we are going back for sure. We found the smaller style casino more enjoyable since we aren't there to be seen, socialize or for the shows. I just want to play and hopefully win money, which we did. It does take a while to get there since it is off the beaten path but for us, it was worth it. And a real positive is the fresher than most interior air. If you can't stand cigarette smoke, you will enjoy this location...they did a great job on the air conditioner. The food court was surprisingly good with healthy portions and fresh ingredients (which we didn't expect). The food is a bit pricey but so is everywhere else these days. Had a good time, won money which paid for lunch and brought home even more than we had. If you go to gamble, you really should be prepared to lose, and lose it all. I have been coming to Harrah's Rincon (San Diego, Southern California) for years and stayed once previously, but this stay was different. It was a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life without the kids. The drive is a chore, pretty much from anywhere. However... it is a beautiful chore. Winding through the sweeping turns of Pala Rd, through the perennially green Pauma Valley, highway 76 is a beautiful drive. Harrah's is not close to anything. Which is a good thing. The location affords rest and relaxation. We had the Palomar Suite in the Dive Inn tower. The room is huge and very comfortable. There is a weirdly large closet, but I think that is was hust to tale up negative space. The gaming floor isn't huge but has a good variety of games for all. The buffet is a good buffet. We didn't stay for the weekend seafood buffet but others say that it is good. Overall, the service, the location and the amenities were the driving force of enjoyment. We will be back!See more..

My wife and I go to the Chumash Casino about once every couple of months...it is the closest casino to our home. We have sometimes won big and sometimes lost our shirts but usually walk out even or maybe with a small loss which is reasonable for several hours of entertainment. There is a wide variety of slots and table games, and they have bingo periodically. They have frequent shows and concerts though the venue itself is pretty rudimentary. The buffet is adequate and they also have a cafe and food court. The players club gives you $5 free play every month. There are also regular car giveaways and other such promotions. This is a nice good-sized local casino that draws from the Ventura-Paso Robles area with buses available from several towns. We stayed in San Bruno the night before we left for Tahiti and needed to burn some time. Artichoke Joe’s was close to our hotel so we decided to check it out and do some gambling. FYI this is a casino for card players. There are no roulette tables, craps tables or slot machines. They stored our luggage while we played and there were a lot of busy tables even during the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful in all ways. There is no smoking anywhere which we really appreciated! We also appreciated how quiet the card room was even though a lot of the tables were full.
