We strolled from Beverly Hills Hotel all the way to Amoeba Music over a few hours, taking in the evening bustle and vibrant atmosphere. We saw some of the most famous music venues such as Whiskey a Go Go and Roxy Theatre that have been the home for performances by renowned bands from the 1960s onwards. We adjourned to The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker for a delicious dinner, with a table in the pleasant courtyard. Later we stopped off at the Andaz Hotel for a cocktail and snack. Famed as hotel of choice for many performers such as Little Richard, who resided there for over a decade. Arrays of billboards were aglow promoting movies and other entertainments.See more..

3.5Bay Street(68 reviews) - Nice to walk outside but not many unique stores Spent < 1 hour Neighborhoods • Shopping Malls
I prefer outdoor malls such as this one and I’m not a big shopper but there are not that many stores in this mall so it didn’t take long to stroll up one side and down the other. It’s nice to walk outside in between stores. They have the Apple store, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body, a bookstore, typical clothing stores, a couple of furniture stores, Victoria Secret, etc... there are just a handful of unique stores like one selling African goods which I enjoyed. There are a few restaurants to choose from but again nothing super exciting. There is an AMC theater which anchors one end of the mall. Be prepared to pay for parking in the multi story garage. 3.5Malibu Colony(43 reviews) - Malibu, nice place to drive through Neighborhoods
I was born and raised in Santa Monica and when I was a Senior in High School, I owned a horse that I kept at my friend's house in Malibu. I drove from SM to Malibu each weekend to go riding, and back in the mid-60's the drive along the cost was wonderful. I was just back for my 50th HS Reunion and made the same drive from SM to Malibu. Lots has changed in those 50 years, but the beauty of the ocean, beach and lovely homes long the road are the same. If you're in the area, don't miss this drive.See more..
The shops are amazing and carry the coolest items. It's like Melrose in Hollywood, but without the crowds and it's close to the beach! This area sells amazing furniture and clothes and many of these items are sold to movies and television shows that feature the 1950s and the 1960s. Great restaurants and just a nice place to browse. I live in Belmont Heights (I love Belmont Heights!) so it's just about 5 minutes away from my house. I recommend Long Beach to any tourist coming to So Cal. We have it all!See more..

you can still enjoy walking the neighborhood as there are still a few Mom and Pop places, and there's always Canter's, but the new hipster places have really taken over. 2.5Little Manila(7 reviews) - no offense, but its a dump. Neighborhoods
Three buildings remain of what was once the largest thriving Filipino community in the United States. The history of Filipinos in Stockton extended much greater than these three buildings. Little Manila once spanned more than four city blocks, and only these three original buildings, the Iloilo Circle and the Dimasalang House, and the Daguhoy Lodge remain. Since so much of our physical history has been bulldozed, we need places that connect us to our past. To see historical buildings, touch their walls, and share the space in which our foreparents lived, partied, slept, ate, planned, worked, and fought to make a better life is to experience part of them. People travel and visit historic neighborhoods, because it is a much more meaningful experience than to look at old pictures, only to wish the buildings and neighborhood still existed. To preserve our past is to connect with our early story as Filipino Americans. Is is a story of love, sacrifice and hope. It is our story to learn... and share.See more..
