    - Not for shopping around
    Spent 1-2 hours Shopping Malls
    Vallco Shopping Mall image
I attempted to grep a men's shoe late Sunday afternoon before mall closed. I went to Vallco because it is close to me. Surprise to find even one pair in the mall, with Macys and JCPenny down. The remaining in this mall is very limited. They still have AMC theater, Bowlmor for bowling, ice staking for fun, and restaurants like Dim-Sum place Dynasty, Japanese Restaurants - Benihana/Tatami. Food court does not attract people. Alexander's steakhouse moved out to the new Main Street Cupertino. If you are not planned to go to one of these place, but come to Vallco, it will be a disappointment to dig out nothing from the rest. See more..
  5. 2.5 Mill Creek Road (12 reviews)
    - Pretty Canyon One Lane Road
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Mill Creek Road image
While in terms of a pretty canyon drive it is very good, its not a top attraction when compared to other impressive canyons in California such as Kings Canyon, Yosemite so the average rating. It is a one lane paved road to serve a few houses that are further up the canyon drive. The road itself is steep (7 per cent grade), and you need to pay attention if cars are coming the other direction. The area itself is very pretty with trees, and hill views. Its not a usual place to go as there is no access to Mission Peak (which is a popular hiking trail in the area - for that there is a different road to use in the area.). Some bikers and walkers do enjoy the area as its a nice shaded area on a warm summer day to go and enjoy. It is by Ohlone Community College - northern side of the campus. See more..
  6. 2.0 Escape Campervans (Los Angeles) (9 reviews)
    - Very disappointing
    Bus Tours
    Escape Campervans (Los Angeles) image
We just picked our camper van for a six week trip and it cost $8,000. That's okay. But, we requested one of the newer models, the ford transit. Instead, we were given an old beat up econolite with 182,000 miles! And, in the parking lot there were two ford transit vans. We asked to switch and they would not. We picked up in Jersey City and the customer service there is awful! This is the second time we were there. We went about six weeks ago to look at the van and then, too, the service was awful! So far, and I truly hope this changes and I can write a revised review later, this has been an extremely disappointing experience and I would recommend you find an alternative. See more..

  11. 2.5 Perret Park (8 reviews)
    - Got to look for it to find it...
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Perret Park image
Actually, a very nice little park, with at least a hundred-yard walk to the water’s edge. People walk their dogs and pick up what they do. We met a 35 year resident of the city of Lake Elsinore and she says that people don’t go in the water, especially late in the summer when the water is at its warmest, for fear of the potential of the 'Brain-Eating' Amoeba, Naegleria Fowleri. After a 9 year old child died, Riverside County health officials issued a warning in 2008 for people to use caution when swimming in the lake. The lake is beautiful, but the warning is enough to keep me out of the water. The lake deserves 5 stars, but the potential of deadly parasites dropped my rating to 3. People were fishing at waters edge.... I don’t know...... See more..
  12. 2.5 Little Manila (7 reviews)
    - no offense, but its a dump.
    Neighborhoods
    Little Manila image
Three buildings remain of what was once the largest thriving Filipino community in the United States. The history of Filipinos in Stockton extended much greater than these three buildings. Little Manila once spanned more than four city blocks, and only these three original buildings, the Iloilo Circle and the Dimasalang House, and the Daguhoy Lodge remain. Since so much of our physical history has been bulldozed, we need places that connect us to our past. To see historical buildings, touch their walls, and share the space in which our foreparents lived, partied, slept, ate, planned, worked, and fought to make a better life is to experience part of them. People travel and visit historic neighborhoods, because it is a much more meaningful experience than to look at old pictures, only to wish the buildings and neighborhood still existed. To preserve our past is to connect with our early story as Filipino Americans. Is is a story of love, sacrifice and hope. It is our story to learn... and share. See more..

  14. 2.5 AMF hemet lanes (6 reviews)
    - Needs more seating
    Bowling Alleys
Went bowling last night. With a reservation for 2hs for a team of 6 players, at first we were pretty comfortable at arrival, but after a while we got another big group next to us, so the 6 seats that were available had to be shared with the other big group. So for about an hour and a half we had 3 people standing and the group next to us also had 3 or 4 people standing. So, making a reservation for a large group made no difference at all we were too overcrowded. Bowling is fun, so we had fun but the full place experience was average. See more..
  15. 2.0 Lake Piru (6 reviews)
    - Not satisfactory. In fact not enjoyable
Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
    Lake Piru image
I've only been once and that was about a 2 months ago where I can say that shoreline is full of debris such as mud and twigs and I do believe they should clean out the lake as much as possible as there was just as much in the water. The currents can be tough if you go pretty far out and you should never go alone. I do believe that I will never go back as this was not a satisfactory experience. Especially to what happened to Naya Rivera at the Lake in July and really if you think about it that It could have been anyone that drowned in the lake as it is very dangerous especially the further out you go. It is easy to say that this lake should and can be considered dangerous to anyone no matter how old or how good of a swimmer you are. See more..
  16. 2.5 Brewcaipa Brewing Company (6 reviews)
    - Very loud music
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
My husband and I came here to listen to a friend who's band was performing. The place was crowded, and we were lucky to get a seat. But the music was so loud, we couldn't hear each talk, plus we couldn't hear what the singer was saying. I'll probably never go there again. Also, there's no food service. See more..
  17. 2.5 Chinese Diggings Historical Site (6 reviews)
    - Fascinating: IF you're into geology, gold mining.
    Historic Sites
    Chinese Diggings Historical Site image
To be frank, this isn't the most exciting place to visit, but if you are a history buff, interested in the gold mining days of California, or an engineering buff, this site is sure to please you. It is a series of very deep, vertical trenches that were used to channel water in the process of separating gold from it's ore. The trenches are quite deep with flat, sheer walls. Being constructed so long ago I had a worry about the stability of the earth here. I would recommend an adult accompany any children. Finding the site is the hardest part. There is a hotel in the shopping center nearby. Behind that hotel is a light-rail train. In the south-west most corner of the shopping center is commercial trash bin. Beside that is a foot trail to a 6-foot black iron gate. The gate is unlocked. The trenches have signs of trash and beer cans in certain places, but to a geologist it still makes for an interesting study. See more..

  20. 2.0 Rockin' Jump (5 reviews)
    - Not Impressed -
Spent 2-3 hours Game & Entertainment Centers
    Rockin' Jump image
Why can't Palmdale have any nice places for the kids to go? I have been to my share of jump places and this is by far the worst one. The trampoline area is not child friendly. We took my five year old Grandson and he had to jump and play BB and jump with kids that are hogging the balls and are 13 - 15 years old with no respect for the little kids and no supervision by any staff. For the money this place should be much better and have more seats for parents to watch their children. No wonder everyone goes down to Valencia. Palmdale can do better! See more..
  21. 2.0 Lightscape At The La Arboretum (5 reviews)
    - Big Disappointment in 2022
    Friday: 5:45 PM - 10:00 PM Gardens
Lightscape At The La Arboretum image
We went in 2021 for the first time and loved it. Then we went back in 2022 and hated it. This last year was awful. It looked like they used amateurs to create the different light shows throughout the property. It was so disappointing that we don't plan to go back since we can't trust if they're going to make it worth while in the future. See more..

  23. 2.5 Century Marina and XD (4 reviews)
    - Great for the price
Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM Spent 2-3 hours Movie Theaters
I am surprised for any of the bad reviews. I have never been to a theater that only charges $5.50 on Tuesdays and the movies are current. I like that they have two ChargePoint chargers and are nice enough to only charge $1.00 per hour for 3 hours. Then it jumps up to $5.00. I disagree about jumping to $5.00. The seats are nice. The parking is plenty. The staff are nice. I don't always give nice reviews but I know that this their does a great thing in having family day for Tuesdays. This theater has shows that are normally family friendly. See more..
  24. 2.5 Golden Acorn Casino & Travel Center (4 reviews)
    - Typical Gas Station Quick mart.... but bigger
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Casinos
The Travel Center has every snack food know to man :-) Clean restrooms, friendly and fast service. But the open access to the casino which is not a non-smoking facility causes the place to reek of cigarette smell. YUK See more..
  25. 2.5 The Canyon (4 reviews)
    - Great for intimate concerts
    Theaters
    The Canyon image
The Canyon Club Montclair is a great venue to see concerts in an intimate setting. General Admission is "standing room" only while you can reserve a table which requires enjoying dinner. Montclair and Santa Clarita are 'newer' venues so the decor is more contemporary. Agoura location is the "original" and could use a face lift BUT still an excellent venue if you want a good view. 30. 2.5 New Happy Day Spa (3 reviews)
    - Spa day again!!
    Spas
    New Happy Day Spa image
We’ve been to this and a few other Happy Day Spa locations . We’ve gotten everything from the foot massage to the body wraps. They have pretty Good specials and the facility always seems clean and in very strict order. We always enjoy the massage and are quick to let them know if the firmness needs adjusting or not. Most of the staff here seem friendly and very professional. Our only issue is when it comes to paying for our services, it’s always a hit or miss on the courtesy of the staff at the front desk and also when our massages are done they usually wait directly in the doorway to hand you the tip folder. Unfortunately it feels like sometimes they can be a bit aggressive about collecting the payment and tip. See more..
  31. 2.5 Vellano Country Club (3 reviews)
    - Prepare for a roller coaster rude
    Golf Courses
This is a excellent layout that wanders through very hilly terrain and bordered by well spaced luxury homes. The course is not walking friendly due to constant elevation changes and distances between many of the teeing areas. A majority of the holes are designed to hit from elevated tees with forced carries. Choose your teeing areas wisely. The greens are extremely large and in excellent shape. Fairways have some bare spots but overall in great shape. This is a very fun course with distinct and memorable holes. There is a well stocked pro shop and good driving range. The clubhouse is elegant and large since it is a former country club. The carts have no gps and I do not believe there was a snack shop. We played in 5 and 1/2 hours which was not good buy overall this is a must play. See more..

    - So fun

My coworkers & I recently visited Ten Pin. We had so much fun. They aren't just a bowling alley. They have laser tag, multiple bars, a restaurant & bocce ball too. There are multiple TVs in the bowling alley. The food was really good. We booked for 2 hrs and it went by so quickly. It's a brand new business but it's popularity is growing. It was packed the entire time we were there. Don't be surprised if you wait a while for a lane. Definitely recommend. See more..

    Oak Hills Brewing Company image
I had a need to stop and stretch my legs on the way to the Rancho Cucamonga area. Lo and behold, there was a brewing company just a mile off of the Interstate 15. Although a few patrons chided me for drinking before heading through the Cajon pass, I was honestly just having a tasting sampler of five 4 oz. beers. There was not any food on this particular night, so I hit a nearby burger joint after. The brewery was new and clean, and the menu of offerings was rather extensive. The bartenders were friendly, too. See more..

  39. 2.0 Redinger Lake (3 reviews)
    - Water Skiing, Boating, Fishing and Camping - Redinger Lake Recreation Area
Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
    Redinger Lake image
We drove to Redinger Lake. On the way there one can see the geographical center marker for California. At the lake, there is a boat ramp. One can boat and also water ski on the lake. There is also fishing year round for German brown and eastern brook trout, small mouth bass, bluegill or catfish. The road there is a bit narrow so its good to watch for oncoming traffic and stop and let cars pass in the narrower stretches to the lake. There is also camping. Redinger Lake was created in 1951 by the Southern California Edison Company. We saw the dam on our visit to the lake. The dam is on the South Fork of the San Joaquin River along Kerckhoff Reservoir. It is part of the Big Creek Hydroelectric Project. See more..

I've been going to this park for all my life, and it's a very solid and dependable place to visit. Lots of trees, tables/BBQ grills, plus some recreation areas (tennis courts, basketball courts, kids playground, baseball/football field). Additionally, there's two areas for bathrooms (although sometimes the main one can be closed at times), and it's a hotspot for multiple ice cream trucks to stop by during the day. Plus, a good amount of parking is available (as it never really gets full), as well as a gated (dirt) dog park! See more..
