   Avoid the Medici Gallery in Del Mar. We purchased what we were told is a "original, signed Chagall lithograph" to later discover that it was nothing more than a poster. Owner refuses to allow return of artwork and give us a refund. Upon further research we discover that the shop has been sued for selling fake art. Buyer beware! They have high pressure sales people and most likely we have not been the only ones who have been ripped off. Purchase your art from a reputable gallery and seek out reviews of the gallery and research the art before you buy -- unfortunately we were newbies in the art world; and we were scammed!!    I came for a free pass I get even by text, I had my appointment today at 9am they had me waiting and finally a little girl supposed to be the manager told me I wasn't able to get a free pass at least I signed for a membership, she not even gave me her name she was rude and racist. I feel offended and dissapointed I was going to cancel my other gym membership but with the way I was treated forget it. I'm a elite athlete world champion in boxing.    We just got into town for a three night stay and wanted to taste some wine and had to use the potty. Walked in the rain from parking lot. low and behold it is a gift shop. Expressed our disappointment and asked to use the restroom. Were told they do not have one. We are Seniors and in distress and likely would purchase wine. Too bad this is so misleading.    We had a flyer that we picked up for a Burger Burn at the Screaming Chicken Saloon. It stated that there would be a burger burn, chicken breasts, polish sandwiches, and bikini bike wash for the Screaming Chicken Saloon. We had this flyer laying around for over a month. This event was supposed to happen on 08/11/2013 at 11:00 a.m. We arrived with friends, after not eating breakfast looking forward to the burger burn. We were just the second bike there, and the waitress stated that the event was still slated to go. At 12:00, still no sight of a barbecue and we are getting hungry. We played some more pool and drank some more beer, but still needed to eat something. The waitress said that someone had gone to go get the "meat". Excuse me- The burger burn had been planned for months and now they just are getting around to getting the food?. Fast forward to 1:30 p.m. No food, no barbecue, no polish sandwiches, no nothing!. There only ended up being about 10 or 11 bikes there. We left at 1:50 p.m., hungry, and very disappointed, never to return, and got some pizza.    I would give this place a negative 5, if I could. It really is that bad. Walking in, I was greeted by a good stare down, included from the bartender. I was in there yesterday and felt so turned off that I felt the need to immediately try to warn other's. Crappy service, overpriced beer. Bartender acted real clickish and never hardly spoke a word. She was sure to hang with other's, who must of been in the click, there. They weren't really busy, but the people next to me felt like they needed to ask me 50 questions. I finally asked him if he was writing a book or something. In all fairness, that isn't the bar's fault. I tried to take a small photo for my facebook, and the bartender said she "Hated getting her picture taken!", & "Don't take my picture!". I said, "Don't worry, I won't. I got up after my drink had been empty for 10 minutes, and "Then- She asked" If I was going to have another. No Thank You, I will be leaving, was my answer. I didn't feel welcome and basically felt as if they seem to think that they are doing you a favor by even serving you. Bill was $4.75 for one beer, and I left a quarter. Even that was way too much.     It's hit or miss on how the help, (or owner(s), might treat you. If you are single, come in once a week and sit by yourself, expect to be treated fairly crappy. They always seem to be in huge rush, but have all the time in the world for their select groupies. This place caters to regulars, who come in every day, and their A-list friends. If you leave good tips, it doesn't matter. If you try asking them something, usually they are in too much of a hurry and storm off. I've had eye rolls, shoulder shrugs etc. In all fairness, they can be nice on occasion. I caught at least one or two bartenders, padding their tips by charging for and extra beer or two I didn't have. Some bartenders can and will be very nice to you. Chances are high of them being nice, if you bring in a girl in with you. I was probably the only person who would bring in snacks for the bar to enjoy and they don't appreciate anything you do. Occasionally I was thanked. I even trapped mice and rats in the place! I wasn't thanked. The owner even threw out 5 steaks of mine, because she was told something, which I never said by another bartender of theirs, coming from another bar. Why would her bartender go to another bar anyway? It was totally taken out of context. I said, when asked, that the owner was acting like a B, so I left. She never confronted me about it, just kicked me out the next time I came in. Kept my steaks too! her own bartender even told me when we were off the property not to come back in.     STILL allows smoking. We will NOT be going back. This is the 3rd time in 6 years we've given this place a try. Just going for a drink after dinner and walked into a wall of smoke. I called ahead this time to check and was told smoking was 'Absolutely Not' allowed. An hour later, we show up and 2 lit cigarettes and 2 ashtrays on the counter proves otherwise. Yes, it's a dive bar but seriously? Smokers like to use that as an excuse. The bartender was friendly enough but said he didn't want to be the 'bad guy' especially when it's so cold outside. You mean, like every other restaurant/bar in town? He did ask to put the ashtrays away and said he wouldn't tell them it was me that complained because he usually stopped the smoking before the next bartender came in. No toilet paper, no napkins to dry your hands no seat covers and trash all over the floor.
