Wonderful fun Experience

Great little town to visit. During the summer they have free concerts at the Truckee River outdoor theater. What a joy to attend! Truckee Thursdays are fun too. They block of the main street and it is filled with local venders and there's a beer garden too. Great place to bike. I will be back.

    Worth checking out
It's a small little town right off I-80 with shopping and restaurants. There's also an amtrak station located there that stops right in the heart of Truckee. It's about 20 minutes away from North Lake Tahoe and 24 minutes away from the Donner Lake Overlook.

    Go to Truckee
This is a great little stop to refresh with good food (we enjoyed great home made pie at a cafe on the Main Street. There is a tourist information centre - worth a visit (postcards are cheaper elsewhere though) where the attendant gave us a useful hint to visit the Donner Lake National Park and Museum. Lots of artisan shops - definitely visit the oil and spice shop. All the shop/cafe staff could not be more helpful but definitely in a laid back chilled out way. Lovely stream nearby . Brewery and winery also. Full of variety for such a small town
