Guided Trail Rides
We went to Alpine Meadows Stables for both a two hour mountain ride for our adult daughter and her twelve year old son and a hand led pony ride for our four year old grandson. Our daughter said the trail ride was fun snd the guides were experienced. I hand led our grandson on a well mannered 30 year old pony. The horses are well groomed and their coats are shiny. They are open from 9am to 6pm and reservations are strongly recommended.

Must Visit if Skiing Tahoe
If you are coming to the Tahoe area to ski you probably want to check out more than one ski area. They all have different vibes. Alpine Meadow has a funky, retro family vibe. It is not as polished as Northstar, not as extensive as Heavenly, or quite as radical as Squaw although it has its share of steeps and hike to terrain. There is plenty to ski there, a d can’t selection of intermediate terrain and groomers, and great views of the lake from the backside. Base facilities are basic but adequate. The lift system is modern and on MLK weekend we did not have to deal with any lines longer than 5 minutes.mm. There is no village and food and shopping options are minimal, but skiing is great. I say at least one day there if you have a week in the area.
