Because Covid numbers are so high, I was very pleased to find a family activity where mitigation was easy.     Amazing experience. I'd love to go back in late June or August when the young bats are flying with their mothers. I've wanted to go for years, but had not made the time. I was really missing out. The guide was very knowledgeable, the history was interesting, and of course, the bats inspired gasps from all who attended. When you arrive everyone will park outside the gate and wait for the guide. They will come open the gate, let everyone in, and close the gate. It's a two mile drive to the site and a short walk up a well paved hill to the cave. It's a working ranch, so if you're late, you can catch up, but make sure you open and then close the gate so the cows don't get out. I will go see this each and every time I'm in the area.     First time for me to visit Southlake Town Square. It was very nice! My daughter has been many times. There are some really neat shops with very cool items. Many “mall” style shops as well. Lots to choose from, several testing areas/parks, restaurants and snack/dessert type shops as well. It is a great walk to check out all there is to see. Southlake did their town justice spending the revenue to put this together several years back. I have 2 kids that are deathly afraid of heights so in booking this trip I expected that I would end up with the kids and letting my husband have all the fun. The Staff was absolutely amazing in getting both my kids to Zip Line. My oldest who is 12 did every single line. My youngest who is 9 would not do the first line or second line. We were surprised to learn this existed but after being recommended, we took a trip and we’re shocked to see the largest Hindu temple in North America built solely by volunteers!! The place is also staffed with volunteers who can guide you and direct you to the cool spots of temple. I also liked that although there were other visitors, it is so large that we did not feel on top of others. This is an active church so if you are visiting check with either the church or Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce in visiting times for the day ( Mass, weddings and funeral services are not touring times ) .     John Winn is the best of the best on Caddo Lake. My husband and I rented his kayaks and stayed on his land during our stay at Caddo, and it was a dream. John made everything so easy: he is kind and incredibly generous, and knows the lake like no other. We saw blue herons and egrets on Caddo, and John told us where to go to find the most picturesque spots - his land is right off some of the most beautiful spots on the lake. Thank you, John.     Chris gave us a great tour and spent a night in his front yard with our motorhome. We had a great time and learned a lot about Big Bend Nat'l Park, history and geology. We would recommend future Big Bend travelers go when they have had some rain. The desert is much more beautiful with a little color. Chris gave us a six hour tour during which he led us to great vistas and pointed out great features of the rock structures that have developed that we would have never found on our own.
