This is a very classy venue that many locals don't even know exists. The wine selection is superb. Unlike a lot of businesses in the area, Stillhouse does not "focus" on local or regional products to "promote" the Texas theme. Stillhouse stocks products of the finest quality regardless of the area (or country) from which they originate. Having said that, I tasted some outstanding Texas wines during my visit there. The food available is skillfully prepared and presented. The owner, Kevin, is a creative master in the kitchen. His "homemade" Mediterranean" salad is delicious. My fiance and I visited the Grey Mule yesterday. It was fabulous. The staff was very friendly, the tastes were a good price, and the tasting room, as well as the back patio was very pretty. While it is pretty, it is also a relaxed atmosphere. This is a perfect place to come with a friend, by yourself, or to host an event. I also really appreciated that they did not treat us differently, considering we had been riding our bikes all morning, and were wearing gym clothes. If you are coming through Ft. This is the best place, in my humble opinion, in Kerrville. Now I have to say we go mainly for lunch and haven't been here for years for dinner. However, this place rocks. The Duke Burger (BBQ and jalapenos) and the Turkey Meltdown were both enjoyable sandwiches.The German potato salad was especially nice and a welcome exchange from the normal fries. I have been coming here for over 50 years, first with my dad back in the day, now with my wife! Burgers come in three sizes, one patty, two patties or three patties! No fries so chips are served with the burger. They also have some of the coldest beer in town! Beer and burgers in Mineral Wells, what a day! We were able to make it in our second attempt. Unfortunately, the first time we tried was when there was that mass shooting in Odessa/Midland and everything shut down. We were determined to give this place our business and we were not disappointed. Great selection of cigars and had some beer. The coffee was good as well. The outdoor patio was fantastic because I don't smoke but my husband does....so it was nice to have that fresh air for me. It was not super busy when we arrived but became busier as we stayed. The parking is tight, as there are other businesses nearby. The service inside for drinks is very slow, but if you sit outside the servers grab everything really fast.
