We rented a ski boat from the Marina at Horseshoe Bay during our Spring Break. Ashley was our excellent driver who was also a kind, patient, and knowledgeable tube/wakeboard/wakesurf instructor. She was great with the kids, fun, intelligent and accomodating and made our day on the lake great. We rented the boat for four hours which was just the right amount of time for two 11-year-old boys to get in plenty of tubing and to try wakeboarding and wakesurfing. The MasterCraft boat was incredibly clean and the equipment (ropes/tube/wakeboard, etc.) was new and in great condition. Ashley made the trip so much fun for the boys. It was truly the highlight of our week. We will rent from them again and the boys have already said we have to request Ashley as our navigator.See more..

This is a nice place to hang out for a day to swim in the lake, have a picnic, and rent jet skis and/or kayaks, etc. Just make sure you read the fine print ahead of time and make sure you know all the rules and exactly what you are paying for. Johnson's Ranch Marina is a happening spot on the Lake. My dad spent time at Johnson Ranch back in the 40's. I took him back for his 87th birthday together with his grandson, great grandson, and their fathers. He was able to talk with Billie and share stories from the past 75 years. There is a great covered fishing pier, Go-Devil boat tours, canoe rental, etc. It's a fun place just to hang and soak in the local culture.See more..

We rented the 2 bed 2 bath Cabin #16 up on the ridge up and overlooking their marina. We were away from the main campground - good for us because we were not quiet and didn't wish to disturb others. The cabin was very roomy and well decorated & clean. The marina itself needs alot of work ... most of the docks were closed and needed work. Needs a fishing pier. But they do have an indoor fishing area by the store. The boat ramp is a bit tricky to get the boat in and out - you have to go at an angle. I didn't meet the staff but my sister did and they were very friendly ... we had to call a few times to check on this or that they were very helpful there too. I would recommend this campground for a family get away like ours.See more..

The campsites are half 30 amp and half are 50 amp. The restrooms are new and are tornado resistant. The sites are pretty level and the dump station has room for 2 RVs at the same time. There are no full hook-ups. Cell phones can pick up 1 or 2 bars. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful. The campsites are spaced a little further from each other than most campgrounds and about half are on the lakeshore.See more..
