We took both a canoe trip and a Jeep trip in Big Bend National Park. Guides were knowledgeable and patient (especially important with first time canoeing). Deli lunch, included in all day tours, hit the spot. They paid very close attention to the axiom “leave only footprints.” Office staff was helpful and friendly. Price was all inclusive (other than well earned tips to guides), which didn’t seem to be the case with other tour companies. I’m glad I booked both tours, since it temperature was in the high 90’s, rather than mid 80’s that had been forecasted when I made trip plans. That sort of put the kibosh on hiking.See more..
A lovely day out driving in the rolling countryside and some very beautiful churches. The cost is reasonable, $12 per person and a tip for the guide which for our group was $5 each. Not sure if that is standard or based on group size but we had 14 people.See more..
I played here on a weekday. The online booking wouldn’t let me book the discounted green fee for a 1~Ball, so I rang the course and they said they would match it. I also booked rental clubs at $50 for the day- they were a pretty new set of Callaways with rogue driver, fairways and hybrid. On arrival at the course, the pro shop guy could not have been more helpful and friendly; after the round he even sorted a towel I could borrow to grab a shower. The course was in great condition and the greens were really receptive. I didn’t see a cart service during my round but it wasn’t warm enough to worry about fluids. Overall I really enjoyed playing here, pace of play was good and it was a fair price.See more..
John Winn is the best of the best on Caddo Lake. My husband and I rented his kayaks and stayed on his land during our stay at Caddo, and it was a dream. John made everything so easy: he is kind and incredibly generous, and knows the lake like no other. We saw blue herons and egrets on Caddo, and John told us where to go to find the most picturesque spots - his land is right off some of the most beautiful spots on the lake. Thank you, John. I was taken here as a surprise date which turned into an engagement! It’s easy to find and easy to park in the garage. This was my very first trip to Caddo Lake! It was an awesome experience and nothing that I had ever seen before. Rich uses a pontoon boat which was very comfortable, and we were able to move around to take pictures. He gave us the history on how this particular lake was formed and some of its struggles through the years. I am thankful for those who have worked to keep it so natural. Over the course of two separate tours, we spent 5 comfortable hours exploring Caddo Lake with Mike as our guide. It was our first visit to Caddo, and we knew very little of the history or what to expect. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and a great story-teller! He also has an amazing ability to notice wildlife and point them out...we saw owls, osprey, heron, woodpeckers, and a gator that we would have missed without his help. Because of Mike’s expertise, we fell in love with Caddo Lake and hope to be back in other seasons so He can show us more of its beauty.See more..

I, my wife and 2 others of our group took glider rides with Master Flight Instructor Burt Compton at the Marfa airport. We had contacted Burt a few weeks before our trip at which time he sent an email detailing what to expect as well as what to bring. Burt's primary concern is safety and ensuring a pleasant experience for his passengers. Our whole group came along and we ate lunch on picnic tables at his hanger while watching each of our flights. I'm 6'4", 190 lbs. and Burt was not sure I would fit in the plane, but I did, with not a lot of leg room to spare. The ride lasted about 15 minutes or so, but what a great time it was. Being able to feel the movement of the air as you pass through it, feeling the lift of an updraft, the drop after coming out of it was the best part. Add amazing views and what's not to like. All of us who took the ride agreed it was worth the money.See more..

Persons interested in the history of Texas would do well to visit Independence, located on Farm Road 50 twelve miles northeast of Brenham in Washington County. Independence is where Baylor University had its start, and ruins exist from some of the buildings. In addition, there are several historic houses and buildings that date back to the 1800s, including the house occupied by Mrs. Sam Houston. There are plenty historical markers and signs to assist visitors in identifying buildings, etc. I have visited Independence on a number of occasions, the last being earlier this month. Persons interested in photography may want to visit Independence in the spring, when the wild flowers are in bloom.See more..

They were very nice to visit with and the tour – it was over top wonderful! It was so amazing to float over Austin and see everything from a different vantage point.
