    Marshall Creek Ranch image
At Marshall Creek Ranch, we will take you on the ride of a lifetime. Within the 12,000 wooded acres surrounding beautiful Lake Grapevine, you will encounter gorgeous towering Cottonwood trees, lush pines, and abundant wildlife. As you make your way to the lake, you will cross creeks, traverse changing terrain, and maneuver through heavily wooded hills. This is not the type of riding where you are following behind twenty other horses in a large pasture. You will be riding rustic, traditional trails. You could be heading out to the awesome lakeshore, or on colder days, heading to the western trails, staying deep in the mystical woods and out of the wind. The riding is fantastic and the wildlife is exciting, so head to our website for a description of our Riding Levels, Pricing, and availability! See more..

    Silver Spur Ranch image
We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed to the ranch with a visit from a friendly burrow. With Patrick as our leader, we set out for a fun-packed afternoon in two Polaris ATVs. My son (note: drivers must be 21 years old) loved racing through the mud hole, skidding around turns, and taking the jump close by the grazing longhorns. I hate we did not have enough time to enjoy the other amenities that Silver Spur had to offer, such as the pool. We would have liked the roping exhibition as well. See more..

    Elkins Ranch image
We had a blast on the two hour Jeep tour on Saturday! Donna was our driver and had many great stories to tell as we went from the top to the bottom of the canyon and back up. It was a thrilling ride so thrill seekers will love it. Everyone at the ranch was super nice. The ranch located just before the gate into the park. The line to get into the park was very long but with this tour, you get to the ranch quickly and see everything in the canyon up close. Would highly recommend Elkins Ranch. Thanks Donna for an amazing experience! See more..

    Dixie Dude Ranch image
During a touring holiday of Texas we spent 2 nights at the Dixie Dude Ranch, a family-run working ranch. Accommodation was in individual cabins. All meals were either in the ranch house or outside under the pergola. The holiday included supervised horserides. The horses are rescue animals which have been rehabilitated and are now in fabulous condition. My husband's horse was one-eyed but a lovely horse. There was entertainment of some sort on an evening including a champion stuntman. No TVs, no WiFi, no phone signal. A fabulous relaxing time. Wish we'd had longer. Ps I am a non rider but was looked after so well on the rides that I thoroughly enjoyed myself . Going back again some day . See more..

    - Ok trail ride, so-so dinner
Sunday: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Ranches
    Sleepy Sheep Ranch image
Should start by saying we just visited big bend national park in march and did some amazing horse rides and we had to drive 5 hours from Houston to get here. Not much in way of intro or instruction if this was your first time on a horse might be intimidating. Ride out into woods and eat by a large pond. Some pretty woods. Dinner was a tiny salad, some grapes, a small serving of good brisket and a slice of Walmart cake. Maybe worth the trip from somewhere close like Dallas but we wouldn't come this far again to do it. We did it with discount voucher but wouldn't be worth full price of about $100 per person. Be sure to bring water and a small backpack. See more..

Best little gem in Hill Country. Barbara and Jim, mgrs of the park make you feel right at home. The park is immaculate. Plenty of space to walk and run. Pets are part of the family too. They built a dog park that is fenced in if you want to use. Jim takes care of the wildlife so there are lots of deer and rabbits to watch. There are lots of trails within the park to walk and explore. The Rec center is spectacular…bathrooms, showers, TV and patio to enjoy the beautiful Hill Country skies. Also comes with Showers and laundry facilities. They have Bingo nights, puzzles, and potlucks for the Holidays. Close enough to San Antonio, Boerne and Fredericksburg but far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of the country. It broke our heart to leave…Southern Hospitality to the max. 32. 3.5 Williams Ranch (3 reviews)
    - A Must do
    Ranches
    Williams Ranch image
Get the key form the Pine Springs visitors center and drive this rugged rocky trail up to the ranch house and get some awesome views along the way. Must have 4x4 high clearance vehicle, we took a Wrangler and had no problem, not only is it loose rough rock but the washes are deep and steep, very real possibility for bottoming out, approach an departures angles are really sharp. Not much danger of getting stuck in sand or mud, it’s mostly rock, sharp turns steep hills with lots of tire puncture hazards. I would recommend you not even try it with 4 ply street tires. Traction isn’t a problem but the sharp rocks are. Wash boarded on the flat sections keep the speed down, not too much pin stripping., and not much traffic, we were the only ones on this trail all day. See more..
