This was an AMAZING experience! As an older couple who were inexperienced canoers we did have some trepidations. Our guide Tanner put us at ease with the reminder that his job was to keep us safe. That he did, by getting us through a few times when our novice caused embarrassing moments of being stuck. Regardless, Tanner was encouraging and professional. The result was allowing us to relish in the beauty of the Rio Grande as it can only be viewed from the water line. The majesty of the canyons and the peace of the river was awesome. This was a bucket list item now crossed off. We'd be remiss to not to thank Lea with BBRT for retrieving our water bottle as it floated down stream. Our highest of praises to Tanner and Lea. I loved paddling out at sunset, the water is the prettiest, clear water to see! The boats were not only lit up, but see through, so you could see fish and everything underneath! Our tour guide Nate was wonderful. He was a geology major and was so insightful, gave us history of the river, river facts and tips on wildlife. I only wish I had brought some glow sticks for bracelets to jazz up my pictures. He even took great pictures for us. I loved it and would recommend to anyone!See more..

This was so much fun! We were visiting Austin for the first time and over the weekend, it was highly recommended that we try out the float down the river! I am so glad that we found Texas State Tubes to get us there it was a seamless process from start to finish. We opted for the drive yourself option and rented tubes as well as a cooler tube for the day. We stopped on the way to the start location and picked up drinks and a collapsible cooler. We arrived, checked in, and hit the water within 20 minutes. The entire time we were able to stay connected by all connecting to our cooler so we had a total of 4 floating together. Beware of larger groups on the water 10+ that want to float together and can easily overtake a smaller group. The best thing to do is go with the flow of the river and enjoy it! Will definitely be recommending to anyone who visits!See more..
Happy Hollow's staff are always super friendly and helpful to make this wonderful river and float even better! Our family loves going to this place and will continue to go in the future. We went to Andy's this past weekend, a week when all of Texas, including Concan had massive flooding. The river was running rough and fast and was quite dangerous in places. Another storm was approaching the area. Andy said we could take the "fast ride" on the river, which would take about an hour. But wouldn't allow any other rubbers until after he knew what the storm was going to do. He was very cautious and wasn't going to take any chances with his customers. He told us the areas to avoid that were too dangerous and what to do and not do. We had a great ride and got off the river well before the storm came in. His drivers were very helpful and friendly and added to the fun and excitement of the day. After the ride he asked us about the ride and any area of danger we encountered.He said " You have to respect the power of the river." He does. And I respect an honest and hard working businessman who is more concerned about his customer's fun and safety then turning a buck.See more..

First I want to point out that this is the most beautiful and relaxing place to float the river. The waters were mostly deep and not overly crowded with chaos. The ugly part of the trip was that it took 3 hours to get our group checked in, loaded on the bus, and finally taken up the road to the starting point. This place was completely unorganized - the person loading the tubes was so angry about the confusion that he started throwing tubes out of the truck which were hitting people. Some of the people working were very nice including a little boy that was about 10. However, they could've done a better job of organizing our group. On top of that there were no signs of where to park and no signs of where to get off the river (thank goodness we were able to figure it and not be stranded down the river). I highly recommend you purchase your own tube (which are only $12) and find another way to be dropped off at the starting point, such as a friend or over-sized taxi.See more..
The staff was friendly and efficient. The tubes we rented were clean, as well as the facilities at the rental location. We did not have to wait long at the pickup location, and the staff was great. We had a peaceful float down a beautiful part of the Guadalupe River. We have been coming to New Braunsfuls for the last 12 years and Whitewater Sports had been one of the best places we have encountered to rent tubes.See more..

The Neals own several business in Concan. I would avoid the condos and I would rent take my tubing business somewhere else. This whole place was being run by rude teenagers. You can rent tubes from anyone, but these people are great customer service providers. In particular, Mick. He explained all about the river and their services, allowed us to wash off our own tubes (which were very dusty), engaged us in friendly conversation, and provided us with nylon rope to tie us together (we had a group of five with a cooler), and a "trash bag" which we did not even think about. . . . He even told us that he would take us back to the start point again if we wanted to continue to float, and at no extra charge. The check-in/check-out lady (I cannot remember her name) was always smiling and joked around with us whenever we had contact with her. This was a GREAT group of people. We have tubed before with other tube rental spots, but this was THE BEST experience we have ever had.See more..
This company went above and beyond to make sure we got a river trip in while we visited. The lunch was YUMMY. Our guide was informative and helpful. Great prices for the trip we took. This was the second trip week-long we did with Matthew (and now Cassidy) as our guides. This was a relatively easy trip in canoes through the 75-mile stretch of the Rio Grande known as The Great Unknown in February. Matthew and Cassidy's experience and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We made a couple hikes which included an impromptu lesson on the geology of this unique landscape, a visit to the "Hermit's Cave" in Mariscal Canyon, as well as hikes up to ridges where the 360 degree views were breathtaking. Wild Adventure Outfitters is somewhat of a boutique company that strives to create a customized experience unique to each customer. It's very different than the large river runner establishments that count of drive-up tourists for business. Highly recommended for anyone / group looking for a more personal, unique paddling experience.See more..
