5.0Far Flung Outdoor Center(481 reviews) - Right Choice for Us Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
We took both a canoe trip and a Jeep trip in Big Bend National Park. Guides were knowledgeable and patient (especially important with first time canoeing). Deli lunch, included in all day tours, hit the spot. They paid very close attention to the axiom “leave only footprints.” Office staff was helpful and friendly. Price was all inclusive (other than well earned tips to guides), which didn’t seem to be the case with other tour companies. I’m glad I booked both tours, since it temperature was in the high 90’s, rather than mid 80’s that had been forecasted when I made trip plans. That sort of put the kibosh on hiking.See more..
5.0Paddle SMTX(236 reviews) - It was lit! Sunday: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Night Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing
I loved paddling out at sunset, the water is the prettiest, clear water to see! The boats were not only lit up, but see through, so you could see fish and everything underneath! Our tour guide Nate was wonderful. He was a geology major and was so insightful, gave us history of the river, river facts and tips on wildlife. I only wish I had brought some glow sticks for bracelets to jazz up my pictures. He even took great pictures for us. I loved it and would recommend to anyone!See more..

My sister and I did an overnight canoe trip through the Santa Elena canyon and had an amazing time. Tim and Annie were super capable guides who kept us safe, informed, amazingly well-fed, and super happy. It was a seamless operation that I would recommend to anyone looking for a unique adventure in big bend away from the crowdsSee more..
5.0Angell Expeditions(156 reviews) - Great Experience Kayaking & Canoeing
Angell Expeditions provided a great half-day canoe trip for eight of us through beautiful canyons in Big Bend State Park. Charlie, the owner, was professional and responsive during the booking process and provided detailed information about the meeting site, what to bring, etc. Our guide, Sam, was fun and knowledgeable about the area and it was evident she loves this unique part of the country. I highly recommend this company!See more..
4.5Bastrop River Company(84 reviews) - A relaxing afternoon kayaking trip on the Colorado River Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing • Day Trips
We showed up without reservations on a weekday. Called the number on the outside of the trailer, and Lee made arrangements for us to take a Kayaking excursion within just a few minutes. Outfitted us with everything we needed (including a dry box for my phone and floatation vests), gave us instructions, got us on the water, and picked us up right on schedule. During the trip, we found 3 geocaches, had some great conversation, and took a little swim in the river. Thanks Lee!See more..
John Winn is the best of the best on Caddo Lake. My husband and I rented his kayaks and stayed on his land during our stay at Caddo, and it was a dream. John made everything so easy: he is kind and incredibly generous, and knows the lake like no other. We saw blue herons and egrets on Caddo, and John told us where to go to find the most picturesque spots - his land is right off some of the most beautiful spots on the lake. Thank you, John. We can't wait to come back to Caddo and see you again soon!!See more..
4.0Son's Island(70 reviews) - Son’s Island Seguin, Tx Temporarily closed - Closed until further notice Boat Tours • Waterskiing & Jetskiing • Boat Rentals • Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing
We rented a daytime cabana from 10:30-6:30 for 5 adults, 1 teen, and 1 child. There was plenty of room! We rented cabana C6 because it was the first one, meaning we only had neighbors on one side. It was really private, close to the parking lot, and close to some porta potties. We also rented an iFloat, a paddleboard, and a kayak for the day. We brought our own floats too. Next time I think we might try to get one of the cabanas that are over the water. We brought a cooler full of drinks, some match light charcoal, and cooked hotdogs for lunch. Overall, it was a fun day trip! They offer tents if you want to camp on site, but we wanted to stay in a hotel with AC!! See more..
5.0Frio River Private Access(59 reviews) - Beautiful tree that everyone should see Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing
Do you want to see a big ass tree? Are you willing to pay any amount of money to avoid large crowds and be far away from loud drunk people? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this is the place for you. The tree is majestic af. 10/10 highly recommend. Water is clean. There is a nice dog with a great personality. The owner is quirky but very nice, salt of the earth kinda guy. You gotta pee in the river or woods and bring whatever you need with you (chairs, food, etc) but it was fine.See more..

5.0LLano River Region Adventures(10 reviews) - Great choice for kayaking the Llano!! Gear Rentals • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
Let me just say Tony rocks!!! We had a little mixup on the morning of our kyack trip. We arrived 15 minutes before our "meet up time" and by a string of miscommunication and confusions ended up in a caravan headed out of town with what we thought was our kyack group...yeah not. We were heading to a topaz dig??? Sounds fun. Maybe next time? But not what we drove here for. When we figured out something was wrong we called Tony and found out he and the others in the days group were still waiting for us at the meetup spot. Tony and the others agreed to wait for us to backtrack the 15 minutes we'd driven with the rock group. Sooo appreciate this!! The days kyack trip was just the right length for what we were wanting, about 3 1/2 hours. Tony made sure we were advised and prepared at set us on our way. Definitely recommend this trip if you want a little floating, a little need to push yourself and paddle and a little bit of rapids. Great day all around!! See more..

5.0Wild Adventure Outfitters(8 reviews) - Great guides, great food, great experience AGAIN! Sunday: River Rafting & Tubing • Boat Tours • Gear Rentals • Hiking & Camping Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing • Day Trips
This was the second trip week-long we did with Matthew (and now Cassidy) as our guides. This was a relatively easy trip in canoes through the 75-mile stretch of the Rio Grande known as The Great Unknown in February. Matthew and Cassidy's experience and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We made a couple hikes which included an impromptu lesson on the geology of this unique landscape, a visit to the "Hermit's Cave" in Mariscal Canyon, as well as hikes up to ridges where the 360 degree views were breathtaking. Wild Adventure Outfitters is somewhat of a boutique company that strives to create a customized experience unique to each customer. It's very different than the large river runner establishments that count of drive-up tourists for business. Highly recommended for anyone / group looking for a more personal, unique paddling experience.See more..
Wanted to kayak the Colorado river in Columbus Texas. Found Howell canoe livery and had a blast. They rent all types of canoes and kayaks We had our own and they shuttled us for a nominal fee. The owners are pleasure to deal with friendly and polite. The trip was 6.1 miles and it took us about 3.5hour to complete we drifted half and paddled half. Found a sandy area and had a picnic. Saw many birds/ducks a couple deer and cattle. Quite drift along a beautiful river. The water was low but we never got stuck or had to walk. There are a couple light rapids that were fun. We are defiantly going to do it again hopefully when the water is just a bit higher we will bring some Freinds and let them rent a few kayaks/ canoes.See more..
5.0Rochelle's Canoe Rental(7 reviews) - Awesome night on the river Gear Rentals • Kayaking & Canoeing
We rented a canoe for me, hubby and a 12 year old that needed a phone detox! We did the overnight trip and it was a nice paddle. Some great rapids but nothing too crazy just fun. We found a great place to camp, our son caught the biggest catfish, we swam in the cool water. Great trip. Very attentive and accommodating staff to rent from.See more..
Recently returned from a multiple day trip on the Devil’s River with Angell Expeditions. The guide staff was professional, courteous & extremely efficient. I highly recommend them. They were very knowledgeable of the river. I will definitely return. PatrickSee more..
The Trinity River (specifically the Elm Fork), flowing through the heart of Dallas, is not particularly noted for its beauty. Unfortunately, due to fellow citizens STILL not properly disposing of their trash, much of it winds up in the river. So sad. However, on a recent Saturday, hubby and I decided to check out kayaking the Trinity with Trinity River Kayak Company. Very nice operation! Ultra clean and organized check-in shop with a nice selection of supplies, if needed. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Shuttled to our put-in site with some great background information about the river shared by Jeff. We did the Double Rush starting at Lake Lewisville Dam. (fyi: Six hour ride which requires pretty constant paddling). Lots of great bird viewing (bonus: Came upon an Egret rookery high atop a Cottonwood (I think)...about 15 nests each being guarded by a statuesque Egret. So incredible!). Most stretches of the river were quite lovely and lush. We did our part to help clean the river but picking up the rogue plastic bottle/styrofoam cup we came up which were floating mid-stream. A great way to spend a day in the city, while feeling very much out in nature.See more..
3.5Josh’s Frio River Outfitters(3 reviews) - Outstanding outfitter for your Frio River experience. Sunday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Kayaking & Canoeing

My wife and I canoed Section 2 of Village Creek. This is the shortest of the four sections Eastex offers. My wife is not very comfortable on the water and quite afraid of a number of wild critters. We both enjoyed the trip thoroughly. The creek was calm with many sand bars on this section -- some with a little shade, which we took advantage of to enjoy the lunch we packed. Since we went during the week, we had the creek to ourselves. We heard thunder in the distance from afternoon scattered storms, but we didn't get rained on. All-in-all, a great time.See more..

I called Kim and left her a massage on her phone. I was not sure that she will be available as it is January and many businesses are closed. I found her phone on TripAdvisor and our family wanted to do a kayak trip on the lake. She returned my call almost immediately and was very nice. She worked with our schedule and accommodated us though she had to work around us to make it happen. She came to the location very prepared and gave us water bottles and also had sunscreen to use before we got into the kayaks. She had a great stories to tell us and we enjoyed the trip immensely. I am very happy I found her and called her. The experience was great.See more..
Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail is a canoe/kayak trail that starts at the picnic area boat ramp in Fort Parker state park and ends at Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site (5.3 miles one way). This trail can be shortened 1 mile by starting at the Navasota River boat ramp in Fort Parker state park. My husband and I took the Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail with our canoe. We put our canoe in at the Navasota River boat ramp. The river was not moving on our visit and there was a slight breeze. We made the 9 mile round trip in 4 hours and that included a 20 minute walk at Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site. We saw lots of Great Blue Herons, Ingrids, turtles, 3 snakes, fish, beautiful canopies of trees and 6-15 foot Limestone Bluffs covered with foliage. There was a road bridge (30 feet above the water) near the half way point so we had an idea as to where we were. We loved the trail.See more..
