Awesome night on the river
We rented a canoe for me, hubby and a 12 year old that needed a phone detox! We did the overnight trip and it was a nice paddle. Some great rapids but nothing too crazy just fun. We found a great place to camp, our son caught the biggest catfish, we swam in the cool water. Great trip. Very attentive and accommodating staff to rent from.

a trip down memory lane !
My son & I had taken this canoe trip when he was 16,& is now 44 . He wanted to take another trip with me & include his son, now 15 ! We rented a canoe & a 2 man kyak . We left @ 12:30 on the 19 mile trip down the Brazos river from below Possum Kingdom dam. The wind was over 15 mph so we were very tired by the time we stopped @ 7:30pm. & set up our tents for the night. We had a raccon visit us after dinner while setting around a nice campfire ! When we woke up, we were looking @ several cows wanting to go for a swim/drink in the river ! A curious bull stood about 5 ft. from my son while he was cooking breakfast & after 5 minutes he wondered off..... We left camp about 10 am & thought we had another 6 hr's before reaching the Rochelle's. However, we had a tail wind this time & made excellent time even after having to get out a couple of times because we were dragging bottom on rocks ! Arrived @ 12:45 pm. ! Over all it was fun even with the high heat & glad to have a chance to spend time with my son & grandson ! .

Excellent Source for Canoeing
Great paddling experience on the Brazos River below Possom Kingdom Lake. We bring our own canoes, but we love the service Rochelle's provides. They have canoe rentals and camping available. But, we use the shuttle and parking service. For a minimal fee, you can park your ride at the take-out and they will shuttle you back up to the put-in. This is perfect for single vehicle trips. There are two day, three day or four day paddle trips with Rochelle's take-out services.
