Beautiful tree that everyone should see
Do you want to see a big ass tree? Are you willing to pay any amount of money to avoid large crowds and be far away from loud drunk people? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this is the place for you. The tree is majestic af. 10/10 highly recommend. Water is clean. There is a nice dog with a great personality. The owner is quirky but very nice, salt of the earth kinda guy. You gotta pee in the river or woods and bring whatever you need with you (chairs, food, etc) but it was fine.

Fun, private and beautiful!
So yesterday our family decided to take a day trip down to the Frio river private access location. Boy did we hit the jackpot. Turns out we have a gem of a place just 1.5hrs from San Antonio, TX. The name does not lie. It’s private access to the Frio river. Doug ,our host was professional, on time, well informed about the location and fun. He gave us an interesting tour of the place, pointed out the great spots for various activities and let us be within the approximately 450 acres of untouched pristine natural Texas river county. We all had a lot of fun tubing down the river and kayaking. The private access part was definitely worth it. Our family had a blast and we can’t wait to go back. Highlights: Private access ( worth it), Doug only allows a max of 30 people on any given day so if you are looking for privacy this is the place for you ,has 3 or 4 impressively large trees, including the 3rd largest tree in Texas, good natural environment, some bird watching. We were able to spot a ladder back woodpecker and a couple of other birds with our binoculars. Doug was really hospitable and at the end of the day it just so happened that the kids got to see him start to field dress an axis deer that was just shot. The family had an incredibly memorable time. Will definitely be going back. Not allowed : no fishing, no bottles, no charcoal grills ( gas grills are allowed).
