  1. 4.5 American Airlines Center (1.388 reviews)
    - Stars vs Hurricanes
    Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Sports Complexes • Arenas & Stadiums
    American Airlines Center image
We went to watch the Dallas Stars play the Carolina Hurricanes on February 11th 2020. The game was fantastic as the Stars completed a 4-1 victory over a decent Hurricanes side. The venue itself was excellent as well, conveniently located and easy to access. Seating around the stadium is well placed, nowhere was too far away or had a blocked view etc. The seats are a bit tightly packed however this is the case at most venues. The seats for this particular game were very cheap as well; we figured we probably made a 'profit' on the night as the first 5000 fans received a free cap which I figured was worth more then the price we payed for the seats! The food and beverage service was quite expensive, more so than in Atlanta, but far less than other city stadiums. The stadium was also very clean which was good. I would definitely recommend going to watch an NHL or NBA game here if you have the opportunity. See more..

Love this park. It has a nice jogging/walking trail around the lake. It is wide enough to make a lap or two. It also has sand volleyball field, playground, and grill areas. There is a small food stall where you can buy snacks. During Summer time, they have a paddle boat swans to use for a small fee. You'll see lots of ducks and geese in the lake area. We found a goose egg one time! The park is located next to Movies 14 and Senior Recreation Center in Mckinney. It is adjacent to a small meadow/trail that you can explore. See more..

They have an upstairs walking track, cardio machines upstairs (which is a smaller area than downstairs), they have cardio machines downstairs, resistant machines, free weights, ping pong tables, basketball courts, etc. And the indoor pool area is literally a dream come true! It has a HUGE rectangular hot tub, 3 lap lanes, an open swimming area, a kids area with a small slide and sprinkling palm trees, a wrench shaped area where you can walk against the current for exercise, or with it, or swim with it; they also have a 9' swimming area with a rock climbing wall next to it, and they also have an enclosed slide for the bigger kids! - Nice, modern ballpark
    Sports Complexes
    Globe Life Field image
Wife and I wanted to catch a game (and chalk another ballpark off of our list) while visiting Dallas. Not a big place at all, sitting just over 40,000. They built it up instead of wide which gives fans sitting at the upper levels a better view. Feels like you are right above the field. Lots of video displays to watch highlights of plays during the game. Very family friendly with bars and restaurants outside the stadium and areaa where kids can as well as plenty of picnic tables to enjoy inside the stadium. Added bonus was that it happened to be $1 hot dog day (Wednesdays), which made the $12 beers go down a little easier! See more..

The staff are highly profressional. The Center is very accessible by car on Gattis School Road and parking is excellent. - Tons of Fun
Monday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes
    Heights Family Aquatic Center image
Heights Family Aquatic Center is more like a small waterpark than an aquatic center/pool. It is located next door to the Heights Rec Center. Richardson residents get a discount. There are nice statues and walkways here. When you enter, you will immediately see the Splash Zone with a dump-bucket and lots of sprays. To the right is a baby/toddler/preschooler splash area with a life guard. Most of the lounge chairs (and there aren't many) are in this area and they get taken up fast. To the left are the restrooms/showers (which were rather dirty when we visited). Behind the splash area is a big pool (less than 4 feet deep). Past this is the lazy river and a whirlpool (weaker swimmers might get stuck in here as the current is a little strong). There's a basketball/volleyball/lap pool for better swimmers/taller swimmers in the back-left. Two water slides are in the back-right (for those 48" or taller). In the very back are some shaded tables/chairs and snack machines. Since we came early in the day, the pool did not appear skimmed and the grounds/trash bins were not cleaned from the previous night's birthday party. I've attended birthday parties here - just know that afternoon parties only get one tiny (rather public) table area (not really big enough for more than a few to eat at). I suggest you bring your own folding table for any party stuff/cake/foods/drinks. Otherwise, it is a nice pool and on hot afternoons it does get crowded. Just FYI, I've been there on days rain came in and they will kick everyone out of the entire PARK if they see lightning. 12 year old - Liked the slides, river and basketball game 8 year old - Liked the slides, river 3 year old - Liked the splash zone and river See more..
