    Shhhhh......
Don't tell anyone, but this is probably my favorite place in the whole state of Texas. The free flow pool at Hancock Springs is such a hidden gem that I hesitate to even share my love for it in fear that everyone will find out about it and it'll be ruined by crowds of people. The natural sulphur spring water is a little stinky, but it doesn't even matter. It's nice and cold and refreshing on a hot day, and the spring water feels so amazingly good. I can't get enough of this pool. It's been here for about a hundred years, and I hope it's here for at least that long in the future. If you can't take the smell of sulphur water, then this isn't for you. But if it doesn't bother you, then you'll find no better place to swim in all of Texas.

Very good spring water for hot days!
Water temperature is great for hot days! However, there's a strong underground sulfur smell in the water. The place is cheap and very accessible with enough parking for everyone. They have tables and places to BBQ. If you don't get a small gazebo, there's plenty of space to put a towel down in the floor and have a great time. They have drinks, ice cream, and snacks in the front area. Very good for kids, but it has a large deep area for swimming if you want. Lifeguards on duty.
