Nice, modern ballpark
Wife and I wanted to catch a game (and chalk another ballpark off of our list) while visiting Dallas. Not a big place at all, sitting just over 40,000. They built it up instead of wide which gives fans sitting at the upper levels a better view. Feels like you are right above the field. Lots of video displays to watch highlights of plays during the game. Very family friendly with bars and restaurants outside the stadium and areaa where kids can as well as plenty of picnic tables to enjoy inside the stadium. Added bonus was that it happened to be $1 hot dog day (Wednesdays), which made the $12 beers go down a little easier!

New home of the Texas Rangers baseball club
Not to be confused with Globe Life Park (literally across the street), Globe Life Field is the new home of the Texas Rangers baseball club. There are pay to park lots in the area. If you prepay for parking, make sure you know exactly where your lot is because signage is not helpful. This stadium is an indoor facility and there are several restaurants just outside the main entry. The main concourse is roomy with many concession stands and there are picnic tables available for enjoying your food. There is a huge message/scoreboard in center field with other auxiliary boards in several locations around the playing area. The public address system is good. Sight lines are okay, but I could not see a significant portion of the left field corner. The seats are plastic theater style. COVID-19: Texas is a no mask state, but most of the staff members were properly masked. Fans were supposed to remain masked throughout the event (not enforced) and maintain social distancing (a complete joke as tickets were sold without any spacing between groups).

Not much character
First off, I'll admit that I liked Globe Life Park (across the street) better. We went on a night that it was 100 degrees out, and while it was hot, it was an enjoyable evening. The new stadium has air conditioning, which is nice of course, but I wish they could have incorporated some unique Texas flavor to the design. When you walk in, it could be Milwaukee or Seattle or any of the new retractable roof stadiums. At least Houston has the unique left field pillars. Boring design. It gets the job done, but it wasn't very memorable. Concessions were extremely expensive. We've come to get used to ballpark food being pricey, but there were amongst the highest we've seen. Cheeseburgers were expensive and they tasted like standard frozen patties. Ice cream was $9 for a scoop and a half and not a lot of variety in flavors. I know eating at the park is part of the fun, but you just felt ripped off.
