4.0Garey Park(13 reviews) - Beautiful Park with Plenty of Trails Parks • Playgrounds
Love this park! Has a great wildlife viewing blind, great trails and a wonderful kids water park and play park. They have mini zip lines in the park for the smaller kids. My five year old Grandson loved those and really enjoyed the waterpark. The park is really for kids 10 and under, I think older kids would get bored quickly (I suspect they always do anyways, such is the life of a pre-teen). But older kids might enjoy the hike along the river and the wildlife blind.See more..

4.0Independence Park(8 reviews) - Great RV Park Spent More than 3 hours Parks • Playgrounds
What a surprise. We were tired and just looking for a decent place to spend the night in our RV that wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg! What a great surprise to happen along the Gonzales Parks and Recreation Dept RV Park at Independence Park. We camped in Site 6 and had full hook-ups (water, electric, and sewer) No Cable or Wi-Fi, but no problem. Our antenna picked up stations from San Antonio so we had great reception and plenty of channels to watch. I had my smartphone that tethered to our computer and iPad, so we were all set. This was one of the quietest RV Parks we have ever been to! It was wonderful and we had the Guadalupe River flowing right next to the campsite, so it was lovely. All this for only $25! I would definitely recommend and I will be back!See more..

Matzke Park has a terrific paved walking path so it’s good in any weather conditions. As you go around the fields you can ponder the arcane rules of the cricket players. These fields used to be used for soccer and lacrosse. A very nice playground for kids. This used to be located next to Matzke Elementary before it moved to a new facility. Hence the name. See more..

5.0Bonnie Wenk Park(5 reviews) - Great park for family gathering or morning walk Parks • Playgrounds
This park has so many unique trails that you could easily walk for 1-2 hrs and not cover it all. As with most of McKinney you will go through lots of creeks, greenbelts and small parks. Most of McKinney parks connect so you get to see several different Waters, playgrounds, and landscaping. There are several advanced playgrounds including zip lines and unique chair swings and most of the equipments are all kids friendly. There’s also a full, advanced outdoor gym in the center of the park and a stage that is used by locals for yoga, group exercise, and business meetings. Very bike friendly with tons of long and not crowded trails. It’s also pet friendly with a huge dog park attached to it. If they had 2-3 food trucks or food stands this would be a top 5 park in DFW. There’s a neighborhood Walmart and a street taco shop next to the park.See more..

4.0Devine Lake Park(3 reviews) - Had a great day there Spent < 1 hour Bodies of Water • Parks • Playgrounds
There aren't many people around. We easily got the shade on a long weekend at 11:00 AM. There are a lot of trees and the lake is close to the shade, even the temperature was 96, we did not feel bad. There are grills, play areas, open fields, and trails. You will have the feeling of a rural state park right in the middle of the city. One thing, we saw two snakes during our stay. I think they roam freely since there aren't many people. They try to stay away from you, so no worries. If you are too scared, it's better to avoid then.See more..

4.5Johnson Park(3 reviews) - Beautiful Lake View Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
A nice family park with picnic tables, small rock beach in some places, a small floating dock, swimming area by dock, small playground for young children, and restrooms. No alcohol allowed. Peaceful and quiet. We observed a beautiful sunset when we were there. Beware: this area is still primitive on the edges. We killed a small snake with a rock. No need to be afraid, but wear closed shoes and be aware of your surroundings. Note: We have been to this park twice. The first time it was spotless. After Memorial Day weekend, there was tons of trash on the rocky beach, but the picnic areas were spotless. Please throw your trash in the provided trash cans, so everyone can enjoy this park. Thanks!See more..

4.0Kidsview(2 reviews) - Biggest splash park we have seen! Playgrounds The KidsView splash park and playground is awesome! Our girl is 2 1/2 and she had a blast! There were not many kids out, but it was early in the morning. I’m sure in the afternoon it would be busier. The playground which is around the corner from the splash park is a simple wooden fort, perfect for the imagination! At the splash park there are little slides for them to play on, which is a nice feature. I was surprised how big it was. Ours is 1/4 of the size. Everything is bigger in Texas! See more..

3.5Scotland Park(2 reviews) - A Fantastic Scroll in a Modernly Developed Park Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:45 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
I've been driving past Scotland Park for several years now and never once went there. That changed this week as I decided to go to several parks around Wichita Falls, Texas. I'll admit that the playground is more up to date than the other parks thus far; however, the baseball field seems a little worn down from years of use and lack of maintenance along with the old stone bridge being in an odd place. The benches also seem like they need repainting. I do enjoy the small lake and shooting water.See more..
