    - A must see; highly recommend!

Also known as Paseo del Rio, this 15-mile-long river walk is a must-do in San Antonio. Opt for a self-guided walking or bike tour of the riverside paths, lined with beautiful cypress trees, shops, museums, hotels and of course, Tex-Mex restaurants. But one of the best ways to experience the River Walk is on a hop-on, hop-off cruise, which glides past iconic spots like the Arneson River Theatre, Marriage Island, and the San Antonio Museum of Art. Visit during festivals and holidays like St Patrick's Day and Christmas for exciting river parades and spectacular light illuminations. – Tripadvisor See more..

Decided to pay an ole visit on our trip to San Angelo to visit some friends who had bought their dream ranch. This was west of downtown on the corner of Park St and Beauregard. It was free to the public and offered free parallel parking. The beautiful pools of so many varieties of water lilies and lovely terraced flower beds were a visual delight. The bluebonnets provide photo opportunities similar to Texas’ hill country. It was not crowded and had spots to buy snacks and refreshments. Highly recommend if you’re in the San Angelo area See more..
  3. 4.5 Bonfire Memorial (183 reviews)
    - Powerful and humbling memorial

    Bonfire Memorial image
What a well thought out memorial with each detail representing the tradition, loss of life and spirit of the Aggie pride. The free booklet offered in the parking lot gives an overview of the history behind the bonfires and describes each detail of the memorial. We spent approximately an hour reading the plaques and paying our respects. There are roughly 10 free parking spaces at the entrance of the memorial. If you, like us, get turned around due to construction just keep driving towards the very large white wall that is the entrance (behind lot 51.) See more..

On Friday, March 12, 2021, we stopped on our road trip to The Grand Canyon. We were the only visitors around noon and enjoyed the sculpture variety and uniqueness. Sculptures are spread throughout the park area. Picnic tables are located in the park as well as a butterfly garden. Worth the stop and a chance to stretch our legs. Park sculptures especially the catfish on the truck is mentioned on Roadside America. See more..

    Paintbrush Alley image
Our hotel (Old Central Firehouse Bed and Brew) told us about this hidden gem. Beautiful paintings and art spread along an alley off Avenue D and Irving. I loved it...the creativity to take a random alley and fill it with art made me smile. Check out the other public art in San Angelo; the city really embraces public art! In addition to Paintbrush Alley, look for the historical murals on downtown buildings, the sculptures (love the mosaic cars!) on the Riverwalk and the Sunken Gardens, and the Pop Art Museum (on Twohig between Irving and Randolph). Don’t miss the mosaic floor at the Sassy Fox...amazing! See more..

    - Small Local Park Great for Families and Creek Walks
Monday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Telge Park image
This was a great park for young families, judging by how many were there. It had gated, off-street parking in a small paved lot. It was a shaded, 111-acre (44.92 ha) public space with 0.75 miles (1.2 km) of well-marked, natural surface walking trail through woodlands and along Cypress Creek. The trail had easy grades and would be scenic if one enjoys seeing and exploring creek landscapes. A small playground, restrooms, and several sheltered picnic tables were among the park’s family-centered amenities. A historical marker described how the park had once been a homestead. If you plan to stay long, bring bug dope to fend off creek-side mosquito swarms – chances are you’ll need it! I least liked the minimal parking available for visitors. I most liked the historical marker and all the shade everywhere. See more..
