An unexpected surprise!

Our hotel (Old Central Firehouse Bed and Brew) told us about this hidden gem. Beautiful paintings and art spread along an alley off Avenue D and Irving. I loved it...the creativity to take a random alley and fill it with art made me smile. Check out the other public art in San Angelo; the city really embraces public art! In addition to Paintbrush Alley, look for the historical murals on downtown buildings, the sculptures (love the mosaic cars!) on the Riverwalk and the Sunken Gardens, and the Pop Art Museum (on Twohig between Irving and Randolph). Don’t miss the mosaic floor at the Sassy Fox...amazing!

    Art in Uncommon Places
This is SO COOL. Go often and visit at different times of day. My grand kids and I loved all of the beautiful murals and paintings. We noticed different details during each visit. Paintbrush Alley is a MUST activity.

    Outstanding art, not graffiti!
What a surprise in downtown San Angelo! I have been traveling Texas taking images of all county courthouses. Near the Tom Green Courthouse downtown, we located the Paintbrush Alley. What a surprise! Very nice artwork done in the Alley. The theme when we visited was from the film Giant, filmed near Marfa. Some talented artists in this city, some might be from Angelo State. Worth 30 minutes of your time to stroll past and admire.
