  1. 3.5 Rollover Pass (15 reviews)
    - Ceased by Eminent Domain - Fishing is no more, but the birding is better
Spent More than 3 hours Piers & Boardwalks

Rollover pass is gone. It is no more. Galveston County ceased the pass via eminent domain and filled in the pass due to beach erosion and silting. The county website said there may be future plans for a park and fishing pier. Fishing was the main attraction here, but now that it's been eliminated birding is actually better. There are two tiny trickles of water on the left and right side of where the edge of the pass used to be. Gulls, terns, skimmers, plovers, sandpipers and more like to sit on that protected land spot. If you are a bird photographer, it's a great place to get close up shots. See more..
