  4. 4.5 The Balanced Rock (158 reviews)
    - Actually called Grapevine Hills
    Geologic Formations
    The Balanced Rock image
The road to get to Grapevine isn't bad. Sedans can make it, you'll just need to drive very slow. This was my second favorite trail in the whole park (next to South Rim). We camped out at a Grapevine site so we were the first ones on the trail in the morning. It was worth it being the first and only ones there. At times in the afternoon when we passed the "parking area" on the way to our campsite the parking lot would be full it was so packed. I'd imagine its a zoo in the afternoon. It's a very easy hike (out and back) until you get to the rock at the end. To actually reach the balanced rock at the end requires some significant scrambling that some may not be able to complete. We saw deer at the very end by the balanced rock. See more..
  5. 4.5 Largest Live Oak in Texas (62 reviews)
    - A very old live oak.

Largest Live Oak in Texas image
Although the great live oak may have been overshadowed by a grander piece of flora, it's beauty still remains. Nestled on the edge of Columbus, Texas it is truly the soul of this small town. The parking limited, but comfortable can fit any sized vehicle and the tree itself stands proud and strong. I believe that if this tree dies, the soul of the town my surly perish. We must protect this great oak and value it for what it is. A landmark of history. See more..

    Dead Man's Hole image
So me and my Sister went on a day trip. You have to drive down a narrow county road to get to this, then down a dirt road. It felt creepy driving down the county road let alone to get there. It was quiet. We didn’t see or hear anything odd, but we did feel like we were being watched. She had evps that were coming out with the word “Indian” in them and figures that were standing a distance from me seen through her phone that disappeared when I turned to look. We took a picture and I noticed in the photo later when I got home there was a strange figure with a face that looked like an Indian. Super strange! See more..
  8. 4.0 Tuff Canyon Trail (35 reviews)
    - Thought the Views were Just OK
Spent 1-2 hours Canyons • Hiking Trails • Geologic Formations
    Tuff Canyon Trail image
You can take the short loop of the Tuff Canyon Trail to the overlooks of the canyon or the 1 mile spur trail and walk through the canyon. We visited on Saturday October 30 and took the spur trail to walk through the canyon and coming back up, we went to the 2 overlooks. It's not too difficult but we thought the views were just OK.
