We showed up without reservations on a weekday. Called the number on the outside of the trailer, and Lee made arrangements for us to take a Kayaking excursion within just a few minutes. Outfitted us with everything we needed (including a dry box for my phone and floatation vests), gave us instructions, got us on the water, and picked us up right on schedule. Mike Davidson did an amazing job showing us the sights of Big Bend while filling in the natural and geological history to put it all in perspective. He was very good about customizing our tour based on our interests and abilities. We felt like it maximized our experience in both the National and state parks. He had the experience and equipment to handle an emergency including a satellite phone which is important in an area with no cell service. Hiring Mike gave me a great wilderness experience with the added benefit of a safety net. We saw parts of the park I am sure I would not have seen on my own either because I would be reluctant to take such a rough road or would not be able to find the best parts. Almost 40 years in the area gave him an intimate knowledge of the conditions of each area we explored.See more..

This was the second trip week-long we did with Matthew (and now Cassidy) as our guides. This was a relatively easy trip in canoes through the 75-mile stretch of the Rio Grande known as The Great Unknown in February. Matthew and Cassidy's experience and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We made a couple hikes which included an impromptu lesson on the geology of this unique landscape, a visit to the "Hermit's Cave" in Mariscal Canyon, as well as hikes up to ridges where the 360 degree views were breathtaking. Wild Adventure Outfitters is somewhat of a boutique company that strives to create a customized experience unique to each customer. It's very different than the large river runner establishments that count of drive-up tourists for business. Highly recommended for anyone / group looking for a more personal, unique paddling experience.See more..

My wife and I went last year for part of our vacation. Allen and Bruce were very nice and helpful, the lodge was fine, everything was as advertised. We had 4 hogs to harvest between us, got 3 the first morning and the 4th that evening. In between we hunted the whole property for 3 hours. I'm heading back in 2 weeks for another hunt.See more..

Excellent guided day hike into Caprock State Park Fern Cave and tunnel slot! 6 miles, 5 hours moderately difficult. Perfect! #NerdyNative was lead guide, great knowledge of canyon, history, and geological features. My experience with Saints Roost started with a detailed email of what to expect then a personal call the day prior to ensure I was properly equipped and prepared for the day hike. We were invited to visit my brother's favorite winery. I have to say it was wonderful, the owners are so friendly, and the wine was amazing. We tried the tastings and were able to try all the wines. We left with several bottles and 2 beautiful wine glasses. As we were leaving, several of the regular locals were coming in, seems to be a hot spot for the area. We fished two days with Marty this week and couldn't be more pleased. As agreed, he picked us up on his dock at 6:30AM each day, after he'd been out catching bait since 4AM. He put us over the stripers in short order and we had an action packed two hours of fishing both days before going in with our limit. Marty is very personable and provides an exceptionally fun experience. My wife, son, and I look forward to the day that we can climb aboard his boat again for another striper fishing experience.See more..

Although the fish were being difficult, Capt.Bas never gave up and worked hard to put us on the fish. He provided a very enjoyable afternoon of fishing. The boat was uncluttered and spacious; plenty of room to get to the rods. He was well organized and even taught us a few new 'tricks.' Our fish were quickly cleaned and packaged for us at the end of trip. I highly recommend Bosstriper Fishing Guide Service. We will use his service when we return next May.See more..
