First I want to point out that this is the most beautiful and relaxing place to float the river. The waters were mostly deep and not overly crowded with chaos. The ugly part of the trip was that it took 3 hours to get our group checked in, loaded on the bus, and finally taken up the road to the starting point. This place was completely unorganized - the person loading the tubes was so angry about the confusion that he started throwing tubes out of the truck which were hitting people. Some of the people working were very nice including a little boy that was about 10. However, they could've done a better job of organizing our group. On top of that there were no signs of where to park and no signs of where to get off the river (thank goodness we were able to figure it and not be stranded down the river). I highly recommend you purchase your own tube (which are only $12) and find another way to be dropped off at the starting point, such as a friend or over-sized taxi.See more..

We have a large group of friends that's gets together for 3 days every summer here. Over that last 4 years we have had a lot that will not come back due to declining conditions. Well after this year (unless something dramatic changes) I don't believe we will be going back. This is the second year in a row that they have "accidentally" double booked our RV spot for at least one night. They are getting paid double for the spot and expect the two bookers to work it out amongst themselves. The miniature golf course used to be a lot of fun for adults and kids, but the park can't even find time to blow the leaves off the course that would take them maybe 30 minutes. Now their are no lights on the course or at the playground. Leash rules are not enforced for dogs so several times we had random dogs do their business in our camping spot. No "quiet time" rules are observed anymore so we had a VERY loud group across from us hollering and singing at the top of their lungs till 2 am every night. This place could be a real jewel with a good clean up, enforcing some rules, and a few repairs. I just don't see it happening. I truly don't believe they care anymore.See more..

Let me just say Tony rocks!!! We had a little mixup on the morning of our kyack trip. We arrived 15 minutes before our "meet up time" and by a string of miscommunication and confusions ended up in a caravan headed out of town with what we thought was our kyack group...yeah not. We were heading to a topaz dig??? Sounds fun. Maybe next time? But not what we drove here for. When we figured out something was wrong we called Tony and found out he and the others in the days group were still waiting for us at the meetup spot. Tony and the others agreed to wait for us to backtrack the 15 minutes we'd driven with the rock group. Sooo appreciate this!! The days kyack trip was just the right length for what we were wanting, about 3 1/2 hours. Tony made sure we were advised and prepared at set us on our way. Definitely recommend this trip if you want a little floating, a little need to push yourself and paddle and a little bit of rapids. Great day all around!! See more..

This was the second trip week-long we did with Matthew (and now Cassidy) as our guides. This was a relatively easy trip in canoes through the 75-mile stretch of the Rio Grande known as The Great Unknown in February. Matthew and Cassidy's experience and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We made a couple hikes which included an impromptu lesson on the geology of this unique landscape, a visit to the "Hermit's Cave" in Mariscal Canyon, as well as hikes up to ridges where the 360 degree views were breathtaking. Wild Adventure Outfitters is somewhat of a boutique company that strives to create a customized experience unique to each customer. It's very different than the large river runner establishments that count of drive-up tourists for business. We were there mid week so there were not many other boats on the lake. We had a blast zooming around we each had a hat blow off but were able to recover them. The public tours are Thursdays 7-9pm, and Sundays 12-2pm, and you can rent the boats for parties or business also. you can take your own food and beverages. Well, we went on a Thursday because on Thursday you can bring alcoholic drinks and we like wine! :) The captain and his helper were so nice and funny, they help you whenever you need them and they make sure you are having a good time! I called Kim and left her a massage on her phone. I was not sure that she will be available as it is January and many businesses are closed. I found her phone on TripAdvisor and our family wanted to do a kayak trip on the lake. She returned my call almost immediately and was very nice. She worked with our schedule and accommodated us though she had to work around us to make it happen. She came to the location very prepared and gave us water bottles and also had sunscreen to use before we got into the kayaks. She had a great stories to tell us and we enjoyed the trip immensely. This was our first time to Flyboard, but it will not be our last. It was so much fun!! Jeff is a fabulous coach. The four of us ranged in age from 22 to 54. We all flew in our first 5 minutes in the water. It is SO MUCH FUN. I thought it was something I would want to do only once, just to see what it was like. Then, I could say I'd done it, but never needed to do it again. However, it was so AWESOME, I can't wait to flyboard again. Jeff, thanks for making it so fun and safe for us. Sad to say our family of 15 rented the 32' double decker pontoon boat for today, the 4th of July. I reserved the boat about a month ago and received my confirmation email. Then, we called yesterday to check on the reservation and were told to call back around 8pm because they were too busy with other customers to help us. Then we got a call this morning, 2 hours before we were to be there to get the boat, stating that our boat broke down yesterday and all they had was a 21' boat for us today. 1. Not the same, can't accommodate us, 2. They were very rude about it, offering no kind of compensation or even an apology. They have a policy that you have to pay them in full if you cancel your reservation last minute. What's the policy when they cancel on you last minute?? So many excuses about being busy and boats breaking down...you're in business...hire more staff. Your rentals aren't cheap, after all. Also the website advertises falsely as to what's really included in the boat rental, at least for our 32' pontoon party boat. It shows a sink, but I was also told this morning that the sink was destroyed a while back by partiers and is yet to be fixed. Probably a blessing after all that we didn't rent from you today. Who knows what we would have actually ended up in?!? I hope you make some serious improvements.See more..
