Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History image
My wife and I visited the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and absolutely loved it. Clean, neat, and pleasant reception. Reasonable entrance fee. This is great to learn about local Brazos Valley / Bryan history. There are photos, artifacts, dinosaur bones, rocks, and a contemporary display (the theme was the history of board games). All done with accuracy and great care. There's also a discovery room for kids of all ages - there are snakes, a tarantula, and even a snapping turtle. A local beehive shows bees busy at work. I would gladly come back for another visit, next time I am in the BCS area. See more..

We were in El Paso to see family during the 110+ degree heatwave. So logically we decided to check out the desert gardens at UTEP. This campus is beautiful. The gardens are so well maintained, with a meditation fountain to find shade and relax. We would have stayed longer under slightly cooler conditions, but I’m still glad we went. My son spotted a tarantula hawk wasp, which made his day. See more..

In July we were passing through Henrietta so I could snap a few quick pictures of the old Courthouse. I wandered off taking more pictures while my husband chatted with a city employee. I wandered a block West and discovered this gem just waiting for me to go in. I only intended to take s few pictures of the door but the door opened and I was greeted by one of the volunteers who helps keep the museum up and running. We ended up spending over 2 hours and learning so much about Clay County. I thoroughly enjoyed the little adventure and hope I can return one day. I highly recommend if you love history. See more..
