We took both a canoe trip and a Jeep trip in Big Bend National Park. Guides were knowledgeable and patient (especially important with first time canoeing). Deli lunch, included in all day tours, hit the spot. They paid very close attention to the axiom “leave only footprints.” Office staff was helpful and friendly. Price was all inclusive (other than well earned tips to guides), which didn’t seem to be the case with other tour companies. I’m glad I booked both tours, since it temperature was in the high 90’s, rather than mid 80’s that had been forecasted when I made trip plans. That sort of put the kibosh on hiking.See more..

This was an AMAZING experience! As an older couple who were inexperienced canoers we did have some trepidations. Our guide Tanner put us at ease with the reminder that his job was to keep us safe. That he did, by getting us through a few times when our novice caused embarrassing moments of being stuck. Regardless, Tanner was encouraging and professional. The result was allowing us to relish in the beauty of the Rio Grande as it can only be viewed from the water line. The majesty of the canyons and the peace of the river was awesome. This was a bucket list item now crossed off. We'd be remiss to not to thank Lea with BBRT for retrieving our water bottle as it floated down stream. Our highest of praises to Tanner and Lea. Our interactions with Zach and Jane were wonderful. Crystal and Mike run a great outfit. Zach has been guiding 30+ years and was very patient with our group which included novices. The camp has new managers, Frances and her husband. They've only been there for a few weeks. They are warm, friendly, hardworking, and helpful. The camp is clean and well maintained. We couldn't swim in the springs, but we hope to come back when it's warmer. Peacocks, Guinea Fowl, deer, and a type of small elk are all residents of the camp. One Fallow Deer, Toast, goes from RV to Rv to receive hand-fed treats. We visited the city of Nacogdoches where my husband went to college in 1971. This was the second trip week-long we did with Matthew (and now Cassidy) as our guides. This was a relatively easy trip in canoes through the 75-mile stretch of the Rio Grande known as The Great Unknown in February. Matthew and Cassidy's experience and knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. We made a couple hikes which included an impromptu lesson on the geology of this unique landscape, a visit to the "Hermit's Cave" in Mariscal Canyon, as well as hikes up to ridges where the 360 degree views were breathtaking. Wild Adventure Outfitters is somewhat of a boutique company that strives to create a customized experience unique to each customer. It's very different than the large river runner establishments that count of drive-up tourists for business. Highly recommended for anyone / group looking for a more personal, unique paddling experience.See more..

Excellent guided day hike into Caprock State Park Fern Cave and tunnel slot! 6 miles, 5 hours moderately difficult. Perfect! #NerdyNative was lead guide, great knowledge of canyon, history, and geological features. My experience with Saints Roost started with a detailed email of what to expect then a personal call the day prior to ensure I was properly equipped and prepared for the day hike.
