Mike Davidson did an amazing job showing us the sights of Big Bend while filling in the natural and geological history to put it all in perspective. He was very good about customizing our tour based on our interests and abilities. We felt like it maximized our experience in both the National and state parks. He had the experience and equipment to handle an emergency including a satellite phone which is important in an area with no cell service. Hiring Mike gave me a great wilderness experience with the added benefit of a safety net. We saw parts of the park I am sure I would not have seen on my own either because I would be reluctant to take such a rough road or would not be able to find the best parts. Almost 40 years in the area gave him an intimate knowledge of the conditions of each area we explored.

Wonderful Adventure!!
This was a Music River Tour put on by 'Go Big Bend' river tours. We had 2 nights of fantastic music provided by Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock. Impossible to beat the 'under the stars' and remote location of this personal 'concert on the river, in the desert'! Mother Nature dictated where and what we could do on this trip, and I, the rest of our group, and crew, rolled with it all and had a wonderful adventure, great food, cool river sits/play, the great music, long canoe trip for some, and on and on! It was evident how much 'behind the scenes' and here & now hard work went into this amazing river trip. Thanks to Mike and all the other fantastic folks who put this trip on.

A great tour of Big Bend
Go Big Bend is a touring company and not the national park itself so ignore the bad reviews below. Mike was an amazing tour guide and had an in-depth knowledge of history, geography, geology and much more. The day was very good value for money and very enjoyable. Mike is an infinite source of knowledge for the area and is warm and personable, making the trip a very pleasant experience. If we were to return to the area we would definitely do another one of Mike’s tours and would highly recommend it to anyone else considering visiting the park.
