Great cavern low key rustic place with great tour guides.
We are doing all 5 caverns on the cavern trail in Tx. This was our first stop and I wasn’t sure when we arrived if it was worth the drive but we were pleasantly surprised. Guide Andy is absolutely the best, she is very personable and animated. She explained the history of the cavern and all the rooms as we went through. The different areas were absolutely gorgeous. We loved the tour. The climb down is fairly easy but some of the less fit people had trouble on the way out. If you stay to the back of the pack and take your time it could be done by the less fit. Definitely grab a medium bag of soil and pan for gems! $12 bag is well worth it. We also did the geode cutting but we felt the gem panning was a better deal and brought better looking gems and a small geode for the kids. Worth the visit!

Great caves and. Lovely camp ground.
Had a great tour of the caves with a knowledgeable guide. Took lots of pictures. The grounds are lovely as well. Camped for several days. One drawback however. You can’t leave the grounds before 10 am nor come back to them after 5 pm as the main gate is locked when the center is closed. Make your plans accordingly.
