Peaceful, Relaxing Canoeing Experience
My wife and I canoed Section 2 of Village Creek. This is the shortest of the four sections Eastex offers. My wife is not very comfortable on the water and quite afraid of a number of wild critters. We both enjoyed the trip thoroughly. The creek was calm with many sand bars on this section -- some with a little shade, which we took advantage of to enjoy the lunch we packed. Since we went during the week, we had the creek to ourselves. We heard thunder in the distance from afternoon scattered storms, but we didn't get rained on. All-in-all, a great time.

Great time
We had a great time on the short trail. The gentleman were courteous and helpful in launching us and when retrieving us. We did not have. A reservation and did not really know what to expect, but the staff was incredibly helpful in answering questions. We went with our two small children (3 & 5). I was a little nervous, but they had a great time. The river was calm. We stopped and ate lunch on a beach. The kids swam. Overall is was a great time and we will be back!
