Knibbe Ranch, Texas, United States

5.0 (42 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Spring Branch Ranches

Worth the drive

This is far from pretty much everything but so worth it. Ranchers there to greet you, long horns for pictures, armadillo races, fabulous music - we even had fireworks. Great venue!! A real Texas experience!!

    Excellent Conference Outing!
I attended a recent conference in San Antonio, Texas and our "client appreciation party" was held at Knibbe Ranch. Being from the Midwest, I was not sure what to expect....fun, fun is what you should expect. The charter buses were comfortable for transportation to and from. The food was amazing, with many options. Plenty of bar options, too. Lots of activities including carnival style games, cornhole, armadillo races, roping lessons, rides on the long horn steer and fireworks at dusk. Knibbe Ranch did not disappoint. Excellent music was played throughout the evening by the Jody Jenkins Band. If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend a visit to the Knibbe Ranch!

Beware ticks: Boots a must !
Certain parts of visiting ranch were great: the band, dancing, hayride, sitting on a long horned steer, variety of food. We were part of a large group that booked the ranch for the evening. The less positive aspects were: the driver of the bus taking us to the ranch was wearing ear phones and listening to his own tunes while driving. He had a movie on so loud that it was deafening. We finally asked him to turn it down, but initially he couldn't even hear us over his own head phones. In most states it is against the law to wear headphones while driving. The lines for dinner went quickly at first, but then most were closed and there were still at least 150 waiting to go through. One of the meat carvers was so slow that it took forever to be served. And, last, but most serious is that I got five tick bites on my foot, needed medical attention and am on a course of two antibiotics. I've had chills, nausea, extreme tiredness, itching and some pain. The good news is that there is no Lyme disease in Texas.
